Could multiple themes work at Burning Man?

More Variety- Camp and Village Themes

Post by robotland » Mon Dec 13, 2004 11:14 am

How about it? Variety is the spice, they say.......A camp or village's theme could contradict or complement the Bmorg Theme, or just ignore it entirely....Just as the cross-streets combine to create amusing or quasi-profound combinations.

My experiences have been just that. Those who follow their own collective muse are often amazing.

Multi Themes?

Post by Killbuck » Thu Dec 16, 2004 5:14 am

Hmmm. Seems Badger has the same view as I. Theme camps tend to be individualistic and seldom fully attempt to grasp the org theme... perhaps the best of all possible worlds.

Our camp APOKILIPTIKA is just studiply vauge enough to take in aspects of the org theme, especially nightmare aspects of dreams.

Anyway, as an artist, I'm alternately amused and annoyed by the question-"What does it mean?"

Be grateful that people at least ASK the question. I get pretty damn tired of blank stares when I do art fairs.

Will I be able to enjoy Apocalypso music in your camp?

Ricky Richardo becomes the Burning Man!!

Post by Killbuck » Thu Dec 16, 2004 7:43 pm

ApoKolypso Musik? Damn what a great vision- Ricky Ricardo on fire singing Babaloo. It could happen.

Hmmm, not bad. We are going to use DOORS, plenty of old STONES, which will morph nicely into the OD camo world with end of the world lovlies... If only they still made "33" beer.

Blank stares at art shows are OK dude- I often get "Oh my gawds". I'd like to think its better to make people feel than think in most cases.
