Virgin from Asheville seeking WNC neighbors in Black Rock City

I'll be at burning man for the first time later this month, driving cross country to have this new adventure. (6400 miles there and back, with a few detours.) I'm far too old to call myself a virgin without laughing out loud, but it looks like, for the purpose of this, I am one. I'll be with friends and family who've gone many times, and I've read much of what I could find to prepare (there is a LOT out there) so I'm not seeking advice as much as hoping to find a few folks from the Asheville area to say hello to. Is there an easy (or even a difficult?) way to do this?

Cinnabar, Welcome to eplaya. Congrats on your newest adventure. Forget about those people that live near you. Come meet US! Look through the threads here. Pick out some interesting folks and come try to find us. (This will never happen because you are going to be way too busy.) You can find those Asheville people after the burn. You'll help them make art and repair gear. But the long-distance friendships formed here are just as good. Write this down 4:15 and F street. Tiger Man camp. I'm Ratty and my campmate is Abba Zabba. I'm 65 and she's much younger. Come find us. If we are not home leave us a note on the board. You are gonna love this trip.

Asheville is crawling with burners. There's a Facecrack page (or three) that are very active. Transformus is a regional that is near Asheville.

Thanks Ratty for the fine advice and the invite. I'm a very young 63, and hope to find you and your young camp mate while I am wandering around out there. Also thanks Gameinwench -- I've been following along with what I could find on Facebook and Tranformus sites but will keep looking. I expect I'll get more involved locally once back.
