In April I ordered a Blu-ray copy of GITS, Solid State Society
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MX ... e_o00_s00?
from Amazon and let it sit on the shelf for a while. When I finally opened it, I discovered that it is region B and unplayable on my North American player.
I suppose I should have looked harder and noticed the seller was in the UK; I swear that region B notice was not there when I ordered it. In any event, this is long after I can return it for a refund.
I have mulled it over and rather than let the disk languish forever, I will gift it to a Burner who can actually use it. Any euro-Burners ( or anyone who has a region-free player) apply within.

Aw, come on, two days and not one nibble? Not even a PM? In case I was not clear, I'm paying the shipping.

Sorry, you should report to the thread about ancient technology

Humph! I still have DVD-Netflix in addition to their streaming service, and find typically in my 30-movie queue only one or two tagged, "Watch Now." How do I stream the rest?Traveller in Time wrote: ↑Sat Aug 18, 2018 5:20 amSorry, you should report to the thread about ancient technology

To be specific, when I do a search for GitS on Netflix, the streaming results are zilch; everything is DVD-only.
And that's not even getting into the evening last month when my broadband went down for 6 hours. I was complaining (via SMS) to the tech agent, "It's horrible! I am forced to watch my own disks!"
You "just stream anything" people can go suck an egg.

List it on Craig's List 'free' and put it on the curb.

Can’t you find an old laptop no one uses and set the dvd-rom to the region you want?
Then you can rip it and there you have it.

Last time I had a region issue it took me less than 5 minutes to crack the DVD-player. Google you model and region free and you have a good chance of solving it.
I have GITS SSC, sourced through alternative distribution channels, so I am not interested.

Welp, it's coming up on four days and no nibbles. Most folks who have replied seem to be under the misapprehension that I was looking for ways to use the disk. Guys, it was $16, something like 2% of what a ticket and gasoline to get to TTITD would be, not counting the VP or other supplies. My mindset was, "Here I have this thing useless to me but could be valuable to a member of a community I care about." Apparently not.
The offer is withdrawn; I will give it to someone local, probably VNSA.
