guh. it's kind of nice to have it over with though.

are you getting my good santa juju, purple? i'm sending it!
I just read this (been busy this evening) and I am offering either to negotiate the exchange, or to storm the prison and release the prisoners... Myself and my crack ranger team are willing to risk our lives to free all prisoners that you want freed, oh Surly One...

So ... my mate's boyfriend invites her to go skiing next month. And invites me along if I want to bring someone. So I am all ... damn, I love to ski and I haven't been in years, since the little ones were born. And I don't have anyone to bring :(

Hmmm, maybe that belongs in the Fuck! thread. Anyone want to go up to Tahoe next month?

Well... I love Tahoe, but... sorry Geekster, you're not my type...

Gee, Sam, thanks for the offer ... but I don't think you are my type either.

Maybe if you ditched that raincoat and tried a vinyl skirt and fishnets ... nahh. Nevermind.

I'll tell you what... you've got a brain I admire... but your body... well... you know what I'm talking 'bout...

Maybe we could meet in Tahoe and go find Kristy Kreme and some of her friends... mmmmmm?

I think my daughter is testing the concept of Santa Claus ... she wrote a list and it says ... Toy Goat

Is there such a thing? Did she do that just to make people laugh when I go into the store and ask for one?

Gotta find a toy goat ... sheeesh.

There's gotta' be toy goats out there somewhere...

You might ask Rob... he seems to have a source for inflatable sheep...

Nope ... GOAT ... I asked her several times. At first I thought she ment a real live goat ... only a tiny breed ... you know ... like a toy poodle ... but no, she wanted a toy goat. And she is very serious about it too. I am afraid if she gets it, she will ask for a diamond ring or something next year. I have a feeling she is testing this whole Santa thing.

Apparently at the age of 5 or something, at 9 at night before
Easter, a friend of the family asked me what the Easter Bunny was gonna bring me.

I answered in a sort of bored tone "The Easter Bunny always brings candy...

but the Easter CHICKEN is going to bring me BOOKS!"

Bless her heart, my mother (who had already prepped the basket full of chocolate bunnies and peeps) promptly went out in search of children's books at 9pm on a Saturday night in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Who the fuck knows where I got the idea of an Easter Chicken... it may have been made up on the spot or something I'd been dwelling on for some time.

Geekster... bless your heart for looking for a toy goat.
It's all about the squirrels.

Hot coffee everyone! Gonna need it. Better get your longjohns on.

26 Degrees F out here on the playa today with dense freezing fog. That leaves the most wonderful ice crystals on the guy wires! Hoar frost can be pretty stuff!

Just occurred to me that I haven't had a drink in a long time. Haven't had a hangover in a long time either. Haven't had to crawl in here on my hands, knees and belly in weeks complaining about a headache or feeling queazy and sick. Am I'm turning into a lightweight? I'll take a cup of hot chocolate with peppermint schnapps, please. And when I get off work, I think it's time to start up the old winter tradition of Hot Buttered Rums. Hell Yeah!!!

Standing at the jukebox... Where is that freaking song????

Nobody has answered my question in another thread, so guess what?? Somebody here must know this... Right now HP has a photo/camera commercial with a song in it sung by The Kinks. Cool commercial with a geeky looking guy putting frames on and off his head.... Something about "pictures of your mama" and "a long time ago".... WHAT is the name of that song, please???

I think one of my favorite Kinks tunes is:

Give the people what they want!

http://www.lyricsfreak.com/k/kinks/78968.html

When olswald shot kennedy, he was insane
But still we watch the re-runs again and again
We all sit glued while the killer takes aim
Hey mom, there goes a piece of the president’s brain!

Give the people what they want
You gotta give the people what they want
Blow out your brains, and do it right
Make sure it’s prime time and on a saturday night.
You gotta give the people what they want
You gotta give the people what they want
Give the people what they want

Oh, and this one too:

I love The Kinks!

This one makes me wanna dress up in a gorilla suit and dance....
(Get me drunk enough and I will) :)

I’m an ape, I’m an ape ape man, I’m an ape man
I’m a king kong man, I’m a voo-doo man
I’m an ape man

I look out my window, but I can’t see the sky
’cos the air pollution is fogging up my eyes
I want to get out of this city alive
And make like an ape man
Come and love me, be my ape man girl
And we will be so happy in my ape man world
I’m an ape man, I’m an ape ape man, I’m an ape man
I’m a king kong man, I’m a voo-doo man
I’m an ape man

I’ll be your tarzan, you’ll be my jane
I’ll keep you warm and you’ll keep me sane
And we’ll sit in the trees and eat bananas all day
Just like an ape man

~well used truck backs up to bar, hand signaled by two girls on either side, dumps two & a half cords of firewood. girls share cigarette, climb on sideboards & all drive off, truck wisping blueish warm tendrils of exhaust. sound fades~

It takes a couple of hours to heat this thing up. Gotta blow the playa dust off, bust up the ice ... start the boiler ...
