How To Avoid Getting Sick This Winter

Method #1
Eat right! Make sure you get your daily dose of fruits and veggies. Take your vitamins and bump up your vitamin C. Get plenty of exercise because exercise helps build your immune system. Walk for at least 1 hour a day, go for a swim, take the stairs instead of the elevator. Wash your hands often. If you can't wash them, use a bottle of antibacterial stuff. Get lots of fresh air. Open windows whenever possible. Get plenty of rest. Try to eliminate as much stress from your life as you can. OR ....

Method #2
You can take the doctors office approach. Think about it, when you go for a shot, what do they do first? Clean your arm with alcohol. Why? Because alcohol kills germs. So...... I walk to the liquor store (exercise), I put lime in my Corona (fruit), celery in my Bloody Mary (veggies), drink on the bar patio (fresh air), get drunk, tell jokes, and laugh (eliminate stress) and then pass out (rest).

I'm for Method #2. The way I see it, if you keep your alcohol levels up, germs can't get you. :lol:

It was great... I had a lot of fun. The black light garage with the DJs was decidedly the place to hang out.

I think I can tell you most of the people there. Shock, Awe, Dragon, Charlene, Brian, Brian, Brian, Allison, A couple of Davids, Deanna, Joe, Topless Deb, Gwin, Nancy, Sparkle, Cheryl, Flash, Michael, Steven, Becca, Brady, Tami, Cat, and at least 7 or 8 people I never got around to meeting. I forgot the 2 poi girls names=bad.

Memory saturation to the hilt.

I did pretty good considering I only knew 5 of the people before I got there.

A red muffin and an unleaded hot chocolate for me, please...something I ate at VM and Freeze's party last night is slowly dissolving my insides (and no, it wasn't the jello shots, I didn't finish the one of those I had). I feel like freeze-dried, powdered ass this morning.... :-P

Sure! Thanks! I'll have an iced chai...with champagne to celebrate the happy news I just got from my daughter Samantha. She got a job as an Apprentice at one of the best tattoo/piercing shops here in downtown SacTown. She is beside herself with excitement. That's my girl. Unique, expressive, artistic, total punk rocker, rebellious in a cute way. Makes a mama proud. *sniffle* :P

We're probably warmer by the ocean right now. That tule fog is bone numbing cold. Lie in bed all day cold. We get a little warm up from the Pacific.

Did you really have that much booze, Fishy dear?

I'm thinking perhaps one of the chicken wings I got (the baked ones) was underdone...my intestinal distress was profound, and is only just now starting to really clear up.

I had a cup and a half (I'm guessing that the cups were 10 or 12 oz) of the margharitas and a jello shot. I have never had such a bad reaction to alcohal, but I haven't had much experience drinking hard alcohol and I may not know how to pace myself. I know beer and 2 cape codders aint gonna kill me but those margaritas were strong and I don't know how to account for the jello shots. Okay, I had a baked chicken wing too. (stayed away from the deep fried twinkies, thank god. I'm sure they would have been even more disgusting the 2nd time round.) Maybe I should have waited for the deep fried ones. Dang, you mean that I can stop berating myself for being no better than a collage student half my age?

something sent to me, something to ponder while being thankful.
Our world and our place within...

As we take leave for the holidays, and count our blessings, we might give thought to the following. If we could shrink the earth's population to a village of precisely 100 people with all the existing human ratios remaining the same, it would look something like:

* 57 Asians

* 21 Europeans

* 14 from the Western Hemisphere, both North and South

* 8 Africans

* 52 would be female

* 48 would be male

* 70 would be non-white

* 30 would be white

* 70 would be non-Christian

* 30 would be Christian

* 6 would possess 59% of the world's wealth and would be from the
United States

* 80 would live in substandard housing

* 70 would be unable to read

* 50 would suffer from malnutrition

* 1 would be near death-1 would be near birth

* 1 (yes, only 1) would have a college education

* 1 would own a computer

When one considers our world from such a compressed perspective, the
need for acceptance, understanding, and education becomes glaringly apparent.

The following is something to ponder:

If you woke up this morning with more health than illness....you are
more blessed than the million who will not survive this week.

If you have never experienced the danger of battle, the loneliness of
imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pangs of starvation....you
are ahead of 500 million people in the world.

If you can attend a religious meeting in a synagogue, mosque, or church
without fear of harassment, arrest, torture, or death....you are more
blessed than three billion people in the world.

If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change on a
dish someplace....you are among the top 8% of the people in the world.

This is something I found, it fits the one I am thinking about:

 Lover, fairy-light,
Yet stronger than the steel of swords;
Mind to mind and soul to soul,
Heart to heart together bound.
Bound together, yet as free
As eagles dancing on the wind;
And thus I hope it well may be
For us, for all eternity.

ROAD TO NOWHERE
Talking Heads

Well we know where we’re goin’
But we don’t know where we’ve been
And we know what we’re knowin’
But we can’t say what we’ve seen
And we’re not little children
And we know what we want
And the future is certain
Give us time to work it out

We’re on a road to nowhere
Come on inside
Takin’ that ride to nowhere
We’ll take that ride

I’m feelin’ okay this mornin’
And you know,
We’re on the road to paradise
Here we go, here we go

Chorus

Maybe you wonder where you are
I don’t care
Here is where time is on our side
Take you there...take you there

We’re on a road to nowhere
We’re on a road to nowhere
We’re on a road to nowhere

There’s a city in my mind
Come along and take that ride
And it’s all right, baby, it’s all right

And it’s very far away
But it’s growing day by day
And it’s all right, baby, it’s all right

They can tell you what to do
But they’ll make a fool of you
And it’s all right, baby, it’s all right

We’re on a road to nowhere

"45"

Send away for a priceless gift
One not subtle, one not on the list
Send away for a perfect world
One not simply, so absurd
In these times of doing what you're told
You keep these feelings, no one knows
What ever happened to the young man's heart
Swallowed by pain, as he slowly fell apart

And I'm staring down the barrel of a 45,
Swimming through the ashes of another life
No real reason to accept the way things have changed
Staring down the barrel of a 45

Send a message to the unborn child
Keep your eyes open for a while
In a box high up on the shelf, left for you, no one else
There's a piece of a puzzle known as life
Wrapped in guilt, sealed up tight

What ever happened to the young man's heart
Swallowed by pain, as he slowly fell apart

And I'm staring down the barrel of a 45,
Swimming through the ashes of another life
No real reason to accept the way things have changed
Staring down the barrel of a 45

Everyone's pointing their fingers
Always condemning me
And nobody knows what I believe
I believe

And I'm staring down the barrel of a 45,
Swimming through the ashes of another life
No real reason to accept the way things have changed
Staring down the barrel of a 45
