I love the stuffed microbes. I want a plush kissing disease, personally...the eyelashes get me every time.
And in response to where I've been all day, I've gone nocturnal as a result of the combined effects of unemployment and depression. I'm waking up around 1300 these days, and going to bed somewhere between 0200 and 0300. (Note I didn't say I was going to SLEEP between 2 and 3 - slow-sleep insomnia sucks.)

Desperately, desperately slow in here. Makes it easier to catch up when I'm in meetings and attempting to do what I get paid for. Rian took today off of work. I'm guessing that Guin did the same. If the two of them are with Rob, I wonder when Seattle will recover. I've been told that going to the LL tonight might be worth my while, so I'm making a point of it. Who else might have made a Monday stop on the way back from Vancouver SantaCon?

Today at work, my gf's dad (i work w/ him as well as her) asked if I had seen the Vikings. I said "No", asking then if he had.
He'd heard it, he said, & that they had one only because the other team sucked more.. (Detroit)....
I was mixing a batch of heat resistant mud in a wheelbarrow at the time.
Labouring for a while.
Finally, after thinking about it, I chimed my one & only idiot savant reason for living, which was that "Maybe every Superbowl™ victor only sucks less than all the others".
Anyways, the old man smiled & we all had a productive day in spite of it being the shortest day of the year.
"We Suck Less!"
I am thirsty.
You are always quite beautiful.

Well *this* womanfolk was being taken to the doctor by Sensei (though I notice I was absent from yer wonderings. I may not join in the e-orgies, motherfuckers, but I'm hot, dammit, and worth wondering about.)
I'm, um, also on vicodin so take whatever the fuck I say with a grain of salt.
The four Women of the Apocolypse will all be gathering in one place tonight. One of them, alas, will be drinking orange juice...

That scathing word I used in scorn
(Though half a century ago)
Comes back to me this April morn,
Like boomerang to work me woe;
Comes back to me with bitter blame
(Though apple boughs are blossoming),
And oh! the anguish of my shame
Is sharper than a serpent's sting!
Age sensitizes us to pain,
And when remembrance of some word
We spoke in wrath return again,
It stab is like a driven sword. . . .
And if in some celestial span
Our hearts in penitence may bleed
For all the hurt we've done to man -
Ah, that would be a hell indeed!
So friends, be careful of your words,
Though other breasts may meet their steel,
Lest they return like vengeful swords,
Till yours the wounds that never heal,
For Age the heart to mercy mellows;
Foul memories haunt like evil elves:
let us be gentle to our fellows,
And win God's mercy for ourselves.

MISS Lydia! SURELY you don't mean MY wonderings? I speak of Rian and Guin because they post most from work and rarely from elsewhere. I wondered about many, many people- then the wave of possibilities overtook me and I fell asleep. But I didn't expect tales of doctors and vicodin- doesn't sound happy at all!
Oh, dear Lord! The 4WOTA assembled! Shall I bring ritualistic robes? Sell all my worldly possessions? Prepare for the End? Or merely get my ass down to the LL because this is an opportunity not to be missed?
Has anyone else read "Good Omens"? Described by some as "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Apocalypse".

Dear Stuart,
I was thinking of you today as my vacation plans went thankfully up in flames...don't worry, it's a good thing. luckily i didn't end up hostage to my own stupid choices as the universe stepped in and saved me from my own dumb ass. you will be happy to hear that the trainwreck has been averted - socal potential torture boy has found a girlfriend, therefore relieving me of having to figure out a graceful (ha!) way out of that mess. no longer going down south at all now, no point really...none of my friends are going to jtree to climb this year, apparently after a decade people have finally wised up and found something warmer and more predictable to do - yep, that's what kids and real jobs will do to ya. durn grown ups! besides of which they got like 8 inches last week up there in the ole high desert, and when that's snow and you're trying to climb that just ain't good. besides gas is just too freakin expensive these days and this girl just ain't goin' down alone. end of an era really, but for the best i'm sure. this may be the first new years in like twelve years that i am actually not in the middle of a rock squeezing my way into the new year.
but don't be sad for me, i am going to find something fun to do, and i'm going to do it do it do it until i just cain't do no more. thanks for pointing out my idiocy, sometimes someone, even if not me, is listening.
love,

MUCH better than I was 48 hours ago, thank god. (Food poisoning for the holidays - oh, yay!
) Doing the last of the holiday baking with my mom tomorrow, which will be a blast; I'll probably take the wintergifts over with me so I can wrap the husband's without worrying about him seeing it. And I just got a stack o' CDs in the mail from a mixtrade a friend of mine started a year and a half ago...she feels awful about it having taken so long, but hey - the timing of the arrival is perfect, if you ask me. And the folks who took part in the trade did some amazing work...two different people did two-disc sets, including one called "...that was then...this is now..." which is a set of originals and covers - which tickled me, because my contribution was called "The Sampler Platter," and was a collection of source material and the tracks that sampled it. (The annoying thing is I'm going to have to ask someone to re-rip my disc and send it back to me, because I had a hard-drive crash and lost the tunes and my notes on the mix. :-/)
*looks at stream-of-consciousness babble* Wow - who pulled my string? *laughs* So I'm thinking of throwing a couple of these in the Bar and the coffeehaus - whaddya think?
