Advice on posting photos

Post by Killbuck » Tue Dec 21, 2004 6:35 pm

Ok, I've had some difficulty in figuring out how to post photos here- jpegs.

Mind you all, I do have one functioning synapse, and that one is usually busy, but if anyone has a few tips to help out the old kernul, it would be greatly appreciated. I'll make it worth your while.

XOXOXO

Kernul, I just asked the same goddam question to someone. You have to get a site to host the photos and then do the url thing I think. And check your private messages woooodja. ht

Heli-

WuH?

Lets see if someone has another response. I really did not like yours very much. Ok, you are cool, that's why I camp with you... but could you at least entertain my foolish questions with optimistic answers?

The Kernul

PS- don't see any PMs. (Hmmmm)

Go to

http://www.ofoto.com
http://www.photobucket.com

and I am sure there are more but those two sites allow hot linking (posting the photos to an external site using a weblink)

So after you get the photos uploaded there is a link you will post between the img brackets. To get the link in Ofoto right-click on the picture and select properties. Paste the Url in the properties in between the Img brackets. In Photobucket the Url is provided after you upload the photo.

So I hope that helps. Just please no midget porn or anything like that and if so please have a heart to forewarn people that may be at a work computer.

Sandwichman-

Much appreciation, I will follow the advice. My good friend Helitack has been spilling too much beer on his cat. Usually, it's the other way round.

Say, your avatar... where is that from? Looks like an associate of mine. Do tell.

Geocities does not allow hot linking photos so it might now work for you.

The avatar is an image of a sculpture found on the web. I will get the artists name again and post it to give credit.

Sandwichman

The face strongly resembles a mask I just completed, although mine is a bit spunkier shade of green.

I'll screw around with the postings tonight to see how it works. I do know that another post some time back did seem to be able to pull one of my APOLILIPTIKA posters off the geocities site, so it may be possible- but I'll go your trail first.

Remember- if you don't think too good, don't think too much.

Dood-

I found that hat in some junk shop at Tahoe- consider it yours... I will send it to you soon, along with the long awaited BM04 slide show disc I keep promising you.

Saw your PM on your cats.. had em 8 years? Send my condolences to your cats.

You want the url of the jpg image instead of the url of the html page (right click on the image, left click on "properties", then copy the address and paste it between the img bookends)

like so...Image
Burning Man 2003-25; Desert Carillon, HypnoHorse, Ulaume's Chimes, Iron Native, Black Rock Solar, Portal Collective, Center Camp Café Stage and Sound Tech, 747 Project
Starship Palomino

Hmmm... why is it..?

Post by Killbuck » Thu Dec 23, 2004 6:08 am

...why is is that inserted photos can be there on some visits, and x out at other times? It's probably some techno issue I am unaware of, due to my general inability to manipulate a technology unless I can make a sculpture from it... in that case broken technology seems to work best... especially when banging nails through it.
