Virgin Burner from Las Vegas

Post by Raycheul » Mon Mar 18, 2019 10:00 pm

Hi everyone! I’m Rachel, 33. I’m originally from Bay Area, California but I moved to Las Vegas 6 years ago to go to school. I’ve wanted to be part of burning man for many years now, but haven’t been able to because of School. My mom would go every year and send pictures and I couldn’t wait to go. I finally graduated with two masters so And now I’m ready! I now work in the medical field as a PA (physician Assistant). Also, i love to dance, was a dancer for many years in Vegas, love playing around on aerial silks, Lyra, pole. I also love to cook, eat healthy and love cooking for others!! I am not sure how I can contribute, but if anyone has any suggestions I would love to hear them

These past 2 years I and have been venturing out and going to lots of different festivals and events, finding more about myself and becoming a better, more free spirited human being. I’m ready for more than some festival. I understand this is an experience that requires participation, giving, and no judgement. I am ready To give, love, connect, and be free. Also, any suggestions on camps would be nice.
Thank you! I hope to see you there :)

Hey there, welcome to ePlaya!
Elderberry

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

Welcome Raycheul!

Hope to see you in the dust!

That first pic,....ouch! Makes me wanna curl up in a ball in the corner. I have never been able to bend like that. Not sure the human body was designed to do it! :)
I would like to treat my gas pedal as a binary operator and get the cooperation of everyone in front of me!

Two Master's Degrees and working in health care?! I like you already!
Congrats on the fine education, and welcome to e-Playa.

The average education level in Black Rock City is quite a bit higher than most folks would guess, so you will fit right in.
(Sorry I drag that average down so much. ;-) )

Thank you! Everyone is so nice. Anyone who has a naked bicycle service is someone I would like To meet. What a great idea. Hats off to you!

Why, thank you. Thank yoo very mush.

And… since somebody is SURE to say it, let’s get it out of the way:

Hat – and everything else – off.

There. Now the usual suspects will not need to say it. They were probably all rushing thru the dark and stormy night to say it first.

So, we can now concentrate on a story. (It is Saturday morning, after all, so this fits in with the cartoons. And we have some serious Wyle E. Coyote fans here, lemme teh'ya'.)

This one time at Burning Man…
…a fellow told us here on ePlaya that he was planning to ride a motorcycle to his first Burn, from the east coast.

So I offered to bring his water. He could pick it up at my camp a gallon or two at the time thru the week. Done.

When he showed up, he seemed puzzled about something, something about me… and he finally managed to almost-stammer a question: “Why… naked?”

Memory fails me for the details, but I probably said something about comfort and perfect climate. And I thought… poor fella – another incurable victim of catholic school.

At the end of the week, he came by for the last time to tell of various amusing and educational adventures and say goodbye. And just as he seemed ready to ride off, he did a “Lieutenant Columbo” – just one more thing that he almost forgot:

He told me he almost forgot to mention this particular newfound enlightenment, because the topic was perfectly natural and no longer noteworthy. What was he talking about? Me going barefoot all over.

One week.
Burning Man.
Not just naked hippies running drunkenly after dirty water trucks.

And so, Raycheul… so different from the expected can a Burn be.
But judging by your original post, you have the basics pretty well figured out -- participate, not judge, connect, and some such stuff.

Subscribe to Jack Rabbit Speaks, read the Survival Guide (twice, for starters), think in terms of giving of your priceless time, rather than giving mere things.
