so listen, girls, and heli too if you have any insight on this one, i have been pretty much boycotting xmas gifts this year other than my holiday disk thing which everyone is getting (except me kid, she's getting a few little things) and that has been all good. but now i am realizing that i am going to be at the ex's mom's for the gift opening thingy...and i am starting to think that i ought to go out and get the obligatory soap and lotions and shit for the ex-in-laws...but i am resentful of that, i can't afford it anyways, and i don't think anyone's going to croak without a freakin scented candle in thier lives...
is it just tacky and wrong to show up with the same thing for everyone?

absolutely not!
I don't do ritualistic gift giving... I would show up with nothing at all... but seriously, first of all, it's something you MADE. Secondly, it's a part of YOU. If they know anything at all, they'll realize that your gift is more meaningful than any kitsch you could get them. and if they don't realize that, do you really care what they think??
I say that they're lucky as hell, baby.
