Sarah Ann, the Black Rock Desert is extremely remote. It's a two hour drive from civilization. Phone calls are very difficult, as the small cell phone tower in the nearby hamlet of Gerlach is not set up for 70,000+ people to make/receive calls or send data. I would suggest a satellite phone so you can check on emergencies at home. It's rather expensive, but will give you peace of mind. You might also be able to share with others who want to check in with home.

You certainly can bring a space heater with you. I've seen tiny ones sold in stores that will easily fit in your luggage. You may find a camp that would let you plug into their generator, but you should bring extension cords as well. Figure on 100 feet of cord heavy enough to run the heater.

You can charge your JUUL on from the same power that runs your heater.

With the event being around 2 months away, you should be pulling all your supplies together now. I assume you have all your transportation and ticket worked out at this point.
