STEP - Keep track of progress here!
STEP - Keep track of progress here!
Hi All! A few years ago, someone had a thread going regarding STEP that I thought was pretty useful, and I'd like to try to get a similar thing going this year. Of course, everytime the STEP registration goes live, the site gets completely inundated, and offers up all kinds of error messages, but most people stick with it and eventually get through with their registration. I would like to try to get everyone to post on this thread the time of their confirmation email, and then, later, whether or not they were successful in getting STEP tickets. I'm just really interested as to how the process is working these days. The first year they did it (2013? 2014? Not sure...) that was how I got my ticket. But, with as difficult to get as tickets are these days, I'm not so sure that many people let theirs go back into the system - maybe choosing to sell to friends instead...
Anyway, good luck to everyone and if you choose to participate in this, thanks very much, I appreciate it!

Re: STEP - Keep track of progress here!
I'll start this off...
I was actually at work, registering on two computers, one for me and one for my buddy, who couldn't get to a computer to do it himself, so he gave me his profile info... I got done with mine, and hit "submit", and it just kept spinning, saying that it was processing... So, I went to the other computer and put his info in, and bam! His went through faster! WTF?? Anyway, his email came through at 12:12pm... Mine actually NEVER took me to a confirmation page to let me know it went through, but I DID get an email saying I was successfully registered... at 12:15pm... So, we'll see if either of these are successful! I'm sure plenty of people had better luck with fewer error messages than I did. Let me know how you did! Thanks.

Re: STEP - Keep track of progress here!
First year of STEP was 2012. Both my daughter and I got ours that way after failing in the main sale. We each registered separately as I had to buy 2 tix for my son and I. It’s pretty crazy that we both got tix that way but the demand was less too.
The time stamp thing drove a mod here almost crazy. Somebody at the meet & greet had some time stamp trucker hats as gifts. I snagged one for my son
Good luck to all

Really? The mods didn't like it? Sorry to hear that, cuz I thought it was great! I could see when it was inching towards me, and sure enough, in early/mid July, I got the email confirming I made it through! Was pretty excited about it, haha!

Oh it just drove a certain one a little nutz. He’s a good person though.
I liked it too. It was fun tracking, hoping and watching it get closer

Same email as the original, Lyte support. But I actually got into the system right at noon but took a while with my credit card info so maybe I was earlier in line? Not sure. Good luck!pedroescobar wrote: ↑Mon Jun 03, 2019 1:45 pmWhat email did the STEP email come from? I got my email at 12:03 and haven't heard anything.

Wow, that's amazing that you got through the process so fast! I always get so many server errors when they open up the on sale, it just seems impossible to get anything done so quickly! I guess if other people had similar good luck getting through, my 12:12pm time stamp is probably not going to yield anything again this year!

I received a 12:02 confirmation email from Lyte and have yet to hear anything! I'll post if/when I do.
Re: STEP - Keep track of progress here!
Not a progress post, but a question-
I tried registering for STEP, and it was so buggy / kept timing out, so I refreshed it, and got 6 emails with 2 different confirmation numbers (one at 12:11 and one at 12:20).
Will I be ineligible in some way since I accidentally have 2 requests pending? Should I cancel the later one? All these tech problems are so frustrating
Thank you!!!!

Re: STEP - Keep track of progress here!
I actually got a notifications Friday from the step program, I got my tickets, I thought this was a waste of time, my bad

If burning man really what’s to fix itself just put a name on the ticket of the buyer, and checked at the gate, so no scalping on tickets, if you can’t make it return to ticketfly for full refund, then the ticket is resold at face value.

Re: STEP - Keep track of progress here!
Can anyone explain to me what the importance of the timestamp is and how you use it to monitor your place in the queue? I have my confirmation email from Lyte with the link to check my request, but the only timestamp is the one on the email itself. This is my first year trying STEP. Can someone help a girl out?

Re: STEP - Keep track of progress here!
Did you register the minute it opened? If someone posts here that they got tickets, and they post their timestamp, you can see if it's moving along towards you. I would work other avenues for getting tickets. Join in local art projects. Help them build on week-ends. Tickets are getting mailed now and will be available for personal sales.

Re: STEP - Keep track of progress here!
Thanks for your reply. No, I didn't join the step queue when they opened. I wasn't even sure that I would be able to go to the burn this year until last week. I am exploring other options, but it would be silly to not at least try STEP. I understand how the timestamp would be beneficial now. I appreciate your explanation.
