The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.

Post by Lost Coyote » Sat Sep 21, 2019 10:23 am

"Good" The "weather" was good the whole week.
"Bad" Three competing "bullhorns" on one corner all at the same time trying to draw people into their camps.
"Ugly" Barbie Death Camp getting "vandalized" by angry jewish boys throwing a temper tantrum.

Good” reuniting with camp mates
“Bad” idea letting a virgin come in on build week
“ugly” people pooping on playa. Like what the actual fuck? Try this hippie, take your drugs at camp while close to a Porto before heading out
Oh my god, it's HUGE!

Good: Hand full of new members that fit like a glove. The future is secure

Bad: Cell phone provider..... no text, internet, voicemail ...etc (nor expectations of it) but when I powered up my phone(camera) I had housekeeping messages about my billing cycle and autopayments. Why did they have service to my phone if I didn't?? ….. #MLB scores matter

Ugly: neighboring camp used a leaf blower to clean up before leaving. (insert unkind words here)
How many old burners does it take to change a light bulb? Just one to change the bulb..... and five more to reminisce how good the old bulb was....

flexibility is the key to success....... and poor planning is the key to flexibility

The Good: Set up, tear down and camp operations were the best yet. Very thankful for the dedicated and plentiful helping hands.

The Bad: Several experienced long time camp members demonstrating optionality of 10 principles, leaving a burden on camp leaders and Consent/Boundaries stupidity.

The Ugly: A long time artist parked in our camp, stole full jerry cans from the neighbors across the street and the on scene involvement of Rangers, Law enforcement and back to Rangers shut down my camp's interactivity for 5 hours leaving me with an ongoing hangover of extreme disappointment.

The Good: Reconnecting after missing the last two years.

The Bad: 89% of the burgins I asked had no idea there were 10 principles. E-racers out of control, speeding through crowded streets. Darkwad percentage at an all time high.

The Ugly: The incident at Barbie Death Camp.
As the camp evolves.....
We got this! 2016/2019
We had it! 2020
We almost lost it! 2021
We have no idea where it is! 2022

Good: performing with Black Rock Philharmonic at the Folly; excellent climbable art pieces
Bad: undecorated "Mercedes" golf carts passing for mutant vehicles, speeding down streets and kicking up dust
Ugly: someone in the camp I tried this year (and won't go back to) spray-painting the camp name on the portos that were literally across the street

The Good: made a lifelong friend by de-virginizing a virgin- flogging unites people in ways we never thought possible.

The Bad: Betrayed by a book giving new friend with a 500lb brain, unlearning that trust is an illusion

The Ugly: BRC felt like a ghost town with people leaving town right after the burn...
