It's now 4 months since Burning Man ended for 2019. Requests to locate lost items are pretty heavy immediately afterwards, and slow down sharply after 30 days. The staff works hard to find people who have labeled their belongings with their name and address. Most of the clothes that is lost is not even noticed to the person losing it. At this time, all the clothing unclaimed (I am told) is donated.
The Lost and Found will reopen in 8 months.

I'm always amazed that people post their search for lost items here many months after the burn.

Most everyone is pretty good about turning things in. Again, the trick is to contact Lost and Found in a timely fashion. You can also post here if you're looking for a lost item. Do you have a picture of the jewelry?

Can't imagine the size of facility we'd need to hold onto things indefinitely just in case someone remembered they lost something this many months later. It's already such a major project to attempt to reunite people with their stuff; at a certain point you have to move on to the future.
