At the Bitter End on west Burnside. Kind of an ironic venue name for a fundraiser of this kind. I think the thing that hit home is when I saw the picture of the mother I realized I was dancing right next to her not even two weeks ago at the club. This whole incident with her child happened in November but just amazing how these things work out. I remember the smile on her face and the thing I found out today is that smile is because finally no one recognized her from the news and she just danced.

I just talked to a friend from Canton, OH, today who lost her husband to cancer about a week and a half ago... she sounded great, but you could tell that she was just doing that because she had to... otherwise, it would have crushed her...

Losing a child? I don't even want to think about it....

Oh it was actully Dj assualt who did Ass'n'titties. I forgot but either way still good shit. Disco D comes through Portland on occasion and plays the latest ghetto-tech anthems. If like the booty house sounds be sure to track down some of the newer ghetto-tech. It like listening to 80's hip hop ala Too short and Eazy-E on 45.

Nice to see you in the bar. As for the booty house it is a style of music rather than the name of a place. Some good downloads to hear what I am talking about would be anything by Dj Godfather or Dj Assualt.

Best storm I ever went through (besides one we tried to fly through in SE Asia) was at the crest of the Sierra several years ago. All alone, lighting landing all around me, rain pouring down, and in the distance the sun breaking through the clouds to paint the landscape in bright colors... nothing like...

Yeah, thunderstorms....

In SE Asia, the idiot pilots tried to fly over one going back to base. I guess no one told them that flying over a storm that can rise to 40,000 feet in a helicopter that had an effective ceiling of 10,000 feet was impossible... well, they were "can do" kinda' pilots... until the lightning started, and they then became "NO-CAN-DO!" kinda' pilots... which was fine with us... we dropped down to Dalat and sat it out.

On the recently past blue moon weekend, we had an amazing sky at sunset, with a storm moving off easterly, enormous roiling purple black clouds; westerly, clearing, with the setting sun shining low and bright purple pink orange, sherbet and layers of blue sky; and for hours a great arching rainbow glowing against hte darkening east, sometimes doubled; it lasted until the sun set entirely. Fantastic!

I had a nice view driving home tonight.

It's pissing down on the freeway. When I exit it seems to slack just a bit. As I am driving up palms there is a block or two where you are elevated enough to catch the ocean. As I am tooling up the rise I notice that while it is raining heavily where I am it seems to be clearing to the west over the water. Just in time for sunset.

rain, ocean, sunset

cool

holy fuck I am surprised I did not loose power with that one. A strike so close there was a simultaneous pop and flash before the boom. Right in the street out front.
