New Burner, trying to plan the trip out
New Burner, trying to plan the trip out
Hello, I have finally decided to pull the trigger and make it happen this year. I live in Philadelphia, and I think it would be educational as well as fun to ride along with someone. I noticed the rideshare forum is pretty bare. Does it usually fill up when it gets closer? Is there any other resource available? I would like to plan as early as possible. I joined the philly burners on facebook but looking for another sources. Thank you !

Hey there, welcome to ePlaya!
Be sure to stop by the ePlaya Meet-n-Greet on Wednesday at 6:00PM and meet all of the ePlayans you may have befriended here. Further details on this year's location will be posted as it gets closer to the burn.

Welcome to ePlaya. There is a big burner community near you your can find by your "Burning Man regional." They know things you need to know to prepare, transport, and participate.
Many ePlayans are normcore, but costume planning begins now, IMO.

Welcome, Astraeus!
I like someseeingeye's suggestion of meeting regional Burners at their events, as big cities usually have people who might like to split a vanshare or similar.

Might wanna hold off on crowded areas for a while though, and just join their FB group.

If driving (about 2700 miles-42 hours non-stop one-way) From Philadelphia, take I-76W to I-90 to I-80 near Chicago. Turn west on 80 and drop the hammer all the way to Fernley, NV, then make the dash to the playa.
Easy-peasy if you don't die of boredom or sleep deprivation getting there.
