Everything lost is gone forever
It's been 8 months since we all left the playa. At this point, lost items are really lost forever. Time to take a deep breath and move on. Sorry folks.

Not to forecast doom and gloom, but realistically if we don't burn in 2021, I'm afraid that will be the end of the scheduled event. The BMOrg will have burned though all their financial reserves, and just won't be able to carry on. It will be very hard to reconstruct the infrastructure, reset service contracts, and reorganize the volunteer service groups, after being inactive for so long.
Then we will be back to just a few folks gathering together informally in the Black Rock Desert. The feds can't keep it closed to public access. forever.

If the virus is under control by April 2021, the event will most likely happen in August 2021. That's still 24 months(ish) between events. If 2021 is missed, I'm afraid that the staff might be scattered to the four winds with a 36 month gap. Even in retail, stores being shuttered for 3 months can't just flip the lights back on and resume business where they left off.

Just what I needed to read. More depressing news this morning.

Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

It's all dependent on a successful vaccine. Everyone is vaccinated? Good to go. Nothing else is really going to be effective or worth trying.

We were just planning to visit the next event with my friend and just after 2 days - first lockdown began.

Well you can still hang out here and learn things (if ya need to). During burn season there’s lots of good conversations about all kinds of things to do with burningman.
Some of the posts are just a little political...

With the prospect of Burning Man 2021 looking a bit brighter, I now say that everything is no longer lost forever.
