Anyone have a cruiser bike with electric front hub?
Anyone have a cruiser bike with electric front hub?
I'm considering adding a front electric hub to my cruiser. I wonder how well that works on the playa. I could see traction being a problem. Has anyone gone this route? Any advice? I'd love a fully electric bike, but the prices are crazy and I'd love to not buy yet another bike. For a few hundred dollars I can have a front hub that pulls me along. Anyone have this setup?

I also have a trike with an electric front hub. Putting a similar motor on the front wheel of a two wheeler could be problematic, Wherever you point the handlebars and punch the throttle, that's the direction the front will go. If you are the slightest bit crossed up, you could end up eating a playa sandwich when you go over the handlebars.
IMHO, stick with a rear wheel or center pedal sprocket motor.

In ‘00 or ‘01 I had a cruiser bike with a gas motor on the front wheel.
It worked great, there weren’t any stability problems.
The coolest thing was the pedals can still power the rear wheels so you’ve got all-wheel-drive to help get through the silty spots.
