Hi Shep, welcome to eplaya. Tell us a bit about yourself. Where are you from? What makes you tick? What gets you excited and what do you hope to get out of your first trip to Burning Man. For myself, life was getting mundane and uninspired. I found a new group of people that looked at life differently.
How is your preparation going? Do you have camping gear ready for going this year?
Good luck with your preparation.

I am looking to further develop my problem-solving skills as a shy person I think in this environment it will be like a sink or swim experience. I am interested in BM specifically as it has a great reputation for delivering a welcoming to weirdos while being in a lively and dynamic environment. I’m not sure what the outcome will be but I don’t want to overthink it, just want to experience it 🤗

The stories of people getting over their shyness at Burning Man are legendary. No matter what you are trying to achieve or overcome, there is a way to do it in the dusty Black Rock Desert. Take your deepest, darkest fear and hit it head on. Fear of going into a crowded bar and mingling is a huge fear for many people. With some thought, you can leave the event with this fear a distant memory. Survival in the desert is another big one. Plan and prepare. You will find nice neighbors to share with--as long as you're not an asshole. If you get the courage, you can spend the entire day wearing nothing but shoes and a hat. This is the place. 8)

Hey there, welcome to ePlaya!
Elderberry

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me
