Hi all
So my last Burn was 2009 (went for 11 years), and one of the struggles at BRC was always dealing with the port-a-potties. As much as the good sanitation folks hired tried to keep them empty and clean, the struggle was both shear numbers of users, and the smaller number among them who would use them like trash cans.
How has this changed in recent years? Just curious what possibly to expect upon my return in 2022
As a person who started Burning a million years ago, I can state that the portos have been great for a while now. At night, near the sound camps @ 10 and 2, they still run out of paper or sometimes get a little dicey, but that's to be expected. It's nothing like it used to be. It's so much better.
Remind everyone you camp with to travel always with:
Clip light
One-ply
Hand sanitizer
Empty Baggies, for wipes or tampons
Spares of anything you would like to give away. I have given away so much one-ply! It's
such an easy way to help another person. Everyone acts like gifts have to be profound or expensive. NOPE.
A cheap oval-mouth automotive funnel and an empty 100 oz detergent bottle is great for anyone who doesn't want to spend an hour a day just trudging to the biffies for a mere pee, or trying to find the portos @ 3am when it's cold. Empty once a day; practice before playa.
