Came home early from work, husband is nowhere to be found. Turns out he went running through the dark, freezing cold woods in full combat gear because it's a full moon and now he has "massive chimp energy"? Is this ok?

Trump also used the speech to rail against New York prosecutors' investigations into his business empire, calling for "the biggest protests we have ever had" if the prosecutors "do anything wrong or illegal."

New York Attorney General Letitia James earlier this month laid out details of what her office believes to be "misleading or fraudulent" financial statements. And Manhattan district attorney Alvin Bragg Jr. has vowed to personally focus on a probe into Trump's business practices. Both prosecutors -- who Trump called "racists" -- are Black, and neither has faced credible accusations of misconduct.

"These prosecutors are vicious, horrible people. They're racists and they're very sick -- they're mentally sick," he said. "They're going after me without any protection of my rights from the Supreme Court or most other courts. In reality, they're not after me, they're after you."

Sadly, just another stat.

A friend was visiting her semi-estranged father in Florida, with her two children. When they arrived, the first thing he did was spend twenty minutes going around the house and collecting up his handguns. They were hidden in all of the places he sat or stood, such that there'd be a gun or two within reach wherever he was in his house. I don't remember anymore if it was four, five or six handguns he pulled out from the cushions of the couch. When they went to the mall in his car, they left the kids in the car while dad & daughter went in. I forget if it was just before or just inside the doors to the mall, when he quickly turned around and rushed back to the car. He'd remembered one of the handguns 'hidden' in his car that he'd missed when he'd cleared his car before they arrived. Having guns is one thing. Having them irresponsibly is another. If someone broke into his place when he was out, they'd have a huge haul to sell.

P.S. All the hand guns were different. No way he was practising with them such that he'd be competent in their reliable use should the need arise. From what she described, he wasn't current with any of them.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capitol_Hill_massacre. One of the survivirs subsequently survived https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clackamas ... r_shooting.

Several of the individuals involved are good friends, they are all within my social circle, and many are burners. It is really not talked about, but many Seattle and Portland burners know the crowd which has roots in the Cacophony Society with costuming and absurdity.

It's probably more common now for people to survive multiple mass shootings with large events like Las Vegas and people starting their "survival career" at an earlier age.

I have no problem with firearms in the hands of people who are well trained as we do in the military. The issue is mental illness, long term or in the moment. I have personally dissuaded two individuals from buying handguns who had a history of temporary mental illness.

Right now cities are in an epidemic of casual shooting deaths and wounds, which no one would argue is good.

(Just to get it out of the way, I'm in favor of liability insurance, which could be combined with theft, like we have for vehicles. I am also in favor of limits on muzzle momentum - heavy bullets or high velocities - https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/ar ... ns/553937/. Another idea is powder tagants with sales tracing for ammunition. I would ban guns in film and video like we have smoking, and put us on a path to ban guns in gaming. Maybe we need smart guns with an artificial intelligence therapist permissive action link? I'm a radical on guns, but none of those changes would inhibit the use of guns by responsible gun owners.)

A lot sounds good, but implementation details can have issues.
Liability Insurance. Great. But some poor in rural or wilderness areas can't afford that and need a firearm for subsistance hunting. In some places up north, when the bride buys her wedding dress, she gets to pick a rifle or shutgun to make up a package deal, as a gun is often a wedding gift for her new husband, as it will help feed the resulting family.
Muzzle energy limits. Already an issue some places, as the game is of a size where you're not guaranteed a clean quick kill with lower energy, so the animal suffers, a long recovery track and meat "ruined". And with a Grizzly or Polar Bear coming in fast, you need to be able to drop it. Now. You've haven't got the distance required for it to bleed out from multiple lower energy rounds before it reaches you. Same if it's forcing entry to your residence.
Now there can be "exceptions" where warranted, but you've then opened a can of worms in determing the rules/law, and in application.
Holywood would not like your film/video proposals. Additional difficulty getting traction in the (video) gaming industry.

Texas prides itself on a free market capitalist answer for every problem, except when it doesn't!

(It also believes government should stay out of people's personal affairs, except the most personal affair, reproductive freedom)

"Texas Governor Greg Abbot reportedly urged crypto miners to shut down in the event the state’s power grid appeared to be failing due to bad weather as it did in February last year, leaving hundreds dead."

"Some senior Republicans, including Mr Abbot and Senator Ted Cruz have held that turning the state into a crypto mining hub would help bolster the state’s energy infrastructure as miners’ rigs would create demand for companies to come along and build more power plants."

"The state also became one of the few in the US last year to make it easier for businesses to hold crypto assets and use them as collateral for loans."

I thought the idea with collateral was something that had a stable guaranteed value. So how is that working out?

The center itself, which is located on the banks of the Rio Grande, has been mired with conspiracies in recent years.

Right-wing supporters have accused the institution of aiding human traffickers and allege that it is helping to bring undocumented migrants to America.

The butterfly sanctuary had already been forced to close from Jan. 28 to Jan. 30 as a result of a nearby rally hosted by Trump's former national security adviser, retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, on their "Take Action Tour."

"Burning Man is an annual gathering that takes place in Nevada’s Black Rock Desert. It’s a mix of art, music and free expression that embraces individual creativity, no matter what that looks like. And it can look pretty wild. At the end of the festival is the ritual burning of “The Man,” a tall effigy made of wood. Galaxy‘s owners, a U.S. businessman and his partner who asked to remain anonymous, are frequent attendees. They were inspired by the festival and a love of entertaining, says Colbon, to create an “alternate universe.”

I didn't think much of this when I lived in Florida. Many products were labeled in Florida ounces. But now that I live in another state I'm surprised to see products still labeled with Florida ounces. I looked up 'Florida ounces' but couldn't find much information about them. Google doesn't know how to convert them to regular ounces.
