Investors are shaken after the co-founder of a multi-billion dollar cryptocurrency protocol was accused of being a serial scammer with a record of conviction and deportation, and the co-founder of a fraudulent Canadian exchange that imploded.
On Thursday, a Twitter user who goes by zachxbt.eth “with a track record of unmasking crypto scams and nefarious behavior,” according to CoinDesk, accused “Sifu,” a core member of the founding team behind the popular Avalanche-based Wonderland DeFi (or decentralized finance) protocol and its TIME token, of actually being Michael Patryn.
Patryn, who changed his legal name twice, was the co-founder of QuadrigaCX, a Canadian exchange that shut down after Patryn's partner Gerald Cotten suddenly died in India in 2018 while owing users around $190 million in crypto at the time’s exchange rate. Patryn and Cotten reportedly parted ways in 2016. Later, investigators determined that Cotten was operating QuadrigaCX as a Ponzi scheme near the end of its life.
Patryn has been convicted of several crimes, including computer fraud and bank and credit fraud, as Bloomberg reported in 2019. After the original tweets that revealed Sifu is Patryn, Daniele Sestagalli, the founder of Wonderland, confirmed the allegation. Sestagalli is a prolific developer who is behind multiple DeFi projects, including Abracadabra's Magic Internet Money (MIM) token.

My conspiracy: Gun control has nothing to do with guns and everything to do with control
Fact 1) Firearm production will continue no matter what laws are in place. Even without 3D printing, all that's required are commonly available plumbing fittings a household chemicals.
Fact 2) There will never be a gun free society. The Jews in the Warsaw Ghetto got firearms and led an armed resistance against their SS guards. -and if you think that Hitler didn't have all kinds of gun laws, you don't know your history.
Fact 3) If there will always be firearms, so-called gun laws will only be followed by law abiding individuals which will leave them helpless victims to the criminals who have always disregard laws.
Fact 4) What is commonly called "gun control" is actually in practical application nothing more than victim disarmament.
Prove me wrong.

Re: What's my conspiracy?
This will surely lead to much wailing and gnashing of teeth with the pro victim disarmament (formerly know as gun control) crowd but my conspiracy theory is now proven as fact.
The grayhound bus shooting is proof positive of my fourth and final fact claimed. A crazy who was legally barred from firearm ownership, who shot the disarmed law-abiding citizens in a so-called gun free zone. #guncontrol is
#victimdisarmament #GunControlNow is murder
Someone should inform the BMORG lawyers so they can discuss removing the self defense right violating parts of the BLM contract.

"Gun Rights" fanatics are really suffering from an authoritarian worshipping victim complex. They need guns, to control others, to feel better, and it's become their identity. They would be the first to "support the troops" as their neighbors are rounded up for being lefties. Every glance at their gun collection brings out paranoid howls of paranoia and outrage. How dare someone think 58 guns is a sign of a deeper issue. Such a complex. Reminds me of Biker Gangs, who beat up hippies and agitators, while kidding themselves of their outlaw rebel stance. There are too many logical fallacies in here to waste my time picking apart so I think I'll coin Armchair Psychologist Logical Fallacy. Came over here because my logic on victim disarmament is irrefutable and you couldn't address it head-on?

Perhaps he realizes, along with a number of others, that: one can't address self-proclaimed "irrefutable" logic that is built out of logical fallacies based on delusional assumptions, where some inputs and the combination of which looks like it may be the product of a prolonged borderline 'psychotic break', as though someone reached into a box and filled their hands with lots of colored Lego blocks and dropped them in a pile on the floor and proclaimed "Look! I made a fort!" There is nothing to address, let alone head-on.Montanarchist wrote: ↑Sat Feb 05, 2022 4:44 pmThere are too many logical fallacies in here to waste my time picking apart so I think I'll coin Armchair Psychologist Logical Fallacy. With some things, one can at least pull some parallel comparisons as a starting point. Say between a big strong tree vs. green grass, where a storm with a big wind will break the tree and blow the grass flat, but the grass will spring back up when the sun shines. But there's a significant material difference between a tree or green grass, and an over-wet limp noodle that's squishing itself under its own meagre weight. There's nothing there to work with.
I don't know where you copied that from, but it presents like someone got stressed and lost their direction, so they doubled their effort; lost that direction, then re-doubled their effort; repeated a number of times in a downward spiral, leaving them almost desperate for answers that at least sound like they're something. And the result is something that looks like maybe someone was trying to build something, perhaps a tiny shack that might fit a smallish groundhog, out of over-wet limp noodles that they tried to hold together with crazy-glue, but they're lost so far down so many loops of the lost-direction->re-double-effort spiral that it looks like they've gone for a ride on the crazy-train and all they're capable of seeing anymore is a fort.
(Sigh. I tried. But I've not anywhere near to beating my record for a run-on sentence...)

interesting how some "anti gun" people use examples from extremist and the vast minority of people and actions, to paint "pro gun" people.
And yet, I'd submit most are horrified when someone uses that same technique, against any group they favor or sympathize with.
Logic and fact be damned when someone has a pulpit and/or somehow claims "righteous indignation" as their right to attack and degrade others.

I presented four clearly stated facts, and backed them up with evidence. You have not countered a single one with anything besides logical fallacies and ad hominem attacks. You have failed to disprove that so-called "gun control" is in fact victim disarmament. I have conclusively proven that your position makes you a murder of innocent people whom you have disarmed through your flawed political beliefs. You have blood on your hands.

Gun fanatics, the biggest victims. I submit. Like going to the Burn to be a cop; simple kind hearted put-upon people simply trying their best, not wanting to be an authoritarian bully at all, while the evils of the world pile on. "Oh why don't they use the logic I demand?!?!"
(They use the Holocaust as an example at the start, to make some point, then complain about logic fallacy when extremism is brought up that doesn't fit their "point"....)

Re: What's my conspiracy?
"According to Justin Ling in The Guardian, the convoys appear to have been organized by James Bauder, a conspiracy theorist who believes Covid-19 is a political scam and has endorsed the QAnon movement. Canada’s recent vaccine requirement to cross the Canadian border provided a catalyst to pull together a number of different groups opposed to public health measures with anti-government protesters. The protests were neither popular nor representative of truckers: there were never more than about 8000 protesters, 90% of truckers crossing the border are vaccinated, and the Canadian Trucking Alliance strongly opposes the protest.
On Tuesday, a spokesperson for the Canadian Trucking Alliance told Rose White of MLive that many of the Freedom Convoy protesters “have no connection to the trucking industry and have a separate agenda beyond a disagreement over cross border vaccine requirements.” Ling noted that the convoy participants flew neo-Nazi and Confederate flags and had QAnon logos on their trucks, but Bauder urged his supporters stick to the message of “freedom.”
The “Freedom Convoy” has been pushed by fake accounts on social media and has picked up supporters from the U.S. right wing, including leading lawmakers. Facebook officials told NBC News today that fake accounts tied to content mills in Vietnam, Bangladesh, Romania, and several other countries have been pushing the convoy. Their disinformation is working; donations from the U.S. have flooded into accounts supporting the convoy protesters.
Former president Donald Trump, Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX), Senator Rand Paul (R-KY), and others have endorsed the convoy, and the Fox News Channel has talked about the convoy two and a half times as often as CNN and five times as often as MSNBC in the last month, according to Philip Bump of the Washington Post. Matthew Gertz of Media Matters for America tweeted that the network has spent more than ten hours on the story since January 18, with the network personalities—especially Tucker Carlson and Sean Hannity—explicitly calling for an American version of the protest."

I'm a firearms enthusiast (I like to shoot) & I have a growing collection. Some are for protection and some are just really fucking fun to shoot. I also have a conceal & carry permit but choose not to carry. I know it's very unlikely but if someone kicked in my door and intended to hurt my family I would do my best to stop them. I also would feel horrible if I ever had to harm someone.Lonesomebri wrote: ↑Sat Feb 05, 2022 3:14 pm"Gun Rights" fanatics are really suffering from an authoritarian worshipping victim complex. I guess I meet your criteria as a fanatic.
I worked for Uncle Sam & served in the Military (for many years) and I have a pretty accurate sense for how the "Troops" would respond to illegal orders to round up and imprison citizens. You may find this hard to believe but the "troops" are for the most part average people just trying to get buy and provide for their families. Many actually are "Lefties" themselves. I know several and like them very much. I lean more Libertarian myself.
Your over generalization and labeling people who you don't know is a symptom of a sick and manipulated society. Consider going cold turkey with social media, consume a variety of "news" and maybe push your limits and get to know a gun owner.
Typically I agree with a lot of what you post and generally like you (as much as someone can through a forum......don't tell anyone but I even have a crush on Lucky.). My first thought was to aggressively reply and attack you, but there is enough of that going on these days. Besides, you're probably a nice person who happens to disagree with me on some points. I can respect that.
I would just caution against over generalizing and labeling people until after you get to know them and realize that they really are assholes.

'But as its [truck convoy] Covid mission has become less clear, the group’s channels have turned to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, where conspiracy-minded thinking has flourished. While some group members have admonished Russian President Vladimir Putin for the invasion, QAnon and anti-vaccine contingents within the groups have seized on a false conspiracy theory that the war is a cover for a military operation backed by former President Donald Trump in Ukraine.
The conspiracy theory, which is baseless and has roots in QAnon mythology, alleges that Trump and Putin are secretly working together to stop bioweapons from being made by Dr. Anthony Fauci in Ukraine and that shelling in Ukraine has targeted the secret laboratories. Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, has emerged in the past year as a main target for far-right conspiracy theories.

Re: What's my conspiracy?
During World War II the United States conducted secret research in converting coal to gasoline at a facility in Louisiana, Missouri. The Louisiana operation began about 1946 using captured German technology. Located along the Mississippi river, this plant was producing gasoline in commercial quantities by 1948. The Louisiana process method produced automobile gasoline at a price slightly higher than, but comparable to, petroleum-based gasoline[7] but of a higher quality.[citation needed] The facility was shut down in 1953 by the Eisenhower administration, allegedly after intense lobbying by the oil industry.[7]

At least you get to savor those thoughts of people
being harmed, with rescue by you imminent, brought on by your conceal permit, and if that isn't totally sane, I don't know what is.
But, give this a thought, what if the orders to your buddies in the military were declared legal by their superior officers? You know, like happens every time with the military.

You seem to be an expert of what you know nothing about. But you ARE quick to condemn people you don't know. Ok, maybe you are only speculating that they are innately evil and self serving.Lonesomebri wrote: ↑Wed Mar 09, 2022 8:33 amFlyingMonkey wrote: ↑Fri Feb 25, 2022 4:21 pm. Like them or not (you will not) hundreds of service members are choosing to disobey Lawful orders to get vaccinated (and end their careers) so it's not too far of a stretch of the imagination that they would disobey unlawful orders to kick in the doors/harm of American civilians. Civilians who are most likely their friends and family. There are actually rule of engagement that govern what the military can do. The FBI/any other alphabet agency is much more likely to do this without hesitation.
I think ePlaya will be better off without us continuing this discussion as it offers zero value. If you want to insult me further please feel free to DM me so the others won't need to endure this banter anymore. I welcome the thoughts and views of others so if you have an opinion that you want articulate I will respond privately.
I'm done responding to you publicly about this but I'm sure you'll feel the need to get the last word. Knock yourself out if it makes you feel better.
Have a great Burner Day.
