Representative Liz Cheney (R-WY) responded: “Former President Trump’s adulation of Putin today—including calling him a ‘genius’—aids our enemies. Trump’s interests don’t seem to align with the interests of the United States.”

Marjorie Taylor Greene and Paul Gosar, members of Congress who spoke at a white nationalist event in Florida this week, are “morons” with no place in the Republican party, Mitt Romney said on Sunday. “I’m reminded of that old line from the Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid movie,” the Utah senator and 2012 presidential nominee told CNN’s State of the Union. “One character says, ‘Morons. I’ve got morons on my team.’ I have to think anybody that would sit down with white nationalists and speak at their conference was certainly missing a few IQ points.” “Talking about how repugnant these white nationalists are,” Romney said, “look, there’s no place in either political party for this white nationalism or racism. it’s simply wrong. “Speaking of evil, it’s evil as well. And, you know, Marjorie Taylor Greene and Paul Gosar, I don’t know them.”
a spokesperson for the Democratic National Committee, said: “In any other world, Greene speaking at a white supremacist conference where attendees have defended Vladimir Putin and praised Adolf Hitler would warrant expulsion from the caucus, to say nothing of her advocacy for violence and consistent antisemitism is disgusting.

Re: Can't make this shit up!
one more time.
in 1999, Putin Used a False Flag Operation to blow up his own citizens to justify the war in chechnya and Secure Power.
this is the god awful truth.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russian_a ... t_bombings
"I believe that Vladimir Putin came to power as the result of an act of terror committed against his own people. The evidence is overwhelming that the apartment-house bombings in 1999 in Moscow, Buinaksk, and Volgodonsk, which provided a pretext for the second Chechen war and catapulted Putin into the presidency, were carried out by the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB). Yet, to this day, an indifferent world has made little attempt to grasp the significance of what was the greatest political provocation since the burning of the Reichstag.
I have been trying to call attention to the facts behind the bombings since 1999. I consider this a moral obligation, because ignoring the fact that a man in charge of the world’s largest nuclear arsenal came to power through an act of terror is highly dangerous in itself.
Russian human-rights defenders Sergei Yushenkov, Yuri Shchekochikhin, Anna Politkovskaya, and Alexander Litvinenko also worked to shed light on the apartment bombings. But all of them were murdered between 2003 and 2006. By 2007, when I testified before the House Foreign Affairs Committee about the bombings, I was the only person publicly accusing the regime of responsibility who had not been killed.
The bombings terrorized Russia. The Russian authorities blamed Chechen rebels and thereby galvanized popular support for a new war in Chechnya. President Boris Yeltsin and his entourage were thoroughly hated for their role in the pillaging of the country. Putin, the head of the FSB, had just been named Yeltsin’s prime minister and achieved overnight popularity by vowing revenge against those who had murdered innocent civilians. He assumed direction of the war and, on the strength of initial successes, was elected president easily."

Re: Can't make this shit up!
valid point. It seems the dilemma is do we elect a person who promotes our personal values and agenda (and ignore their personal and often criminal behaviours), or do we elect a person we feel is honest and forthright? It seems those two are mutually exclusive. I've always felt, the higher the office, the more corrupt, and corruptible, the person running must be, to have a chance.Canoe wrote: ↑Sun Mar 06, 2022 9:11 pmIn some states, is having a criminal record required for holding public office? Re: Can't make this shit up!
People are overly concerned about the idea that someone who wants a job has a criminal record. A significant number of burners, who are in general decent people, could easily have criminal records if laws were consistently enforced.
In 1970, no one in their right mind would have imagined that it would become a crime for a 20 year old to buy and drink a beer, or that pot would be legal to purchase in a store.

No - you can work for Hollywood, have a political career, etc, but in many states it is grounds for taking away the right to vote, buy a beer, work a "conventional job", drive a truck, or build houses because you are just "too dangerous" to do those things.
I find it really funny that (former prosecutors turned congressmen) politicians talk about how much they want to protect the right for minorities to vote, but then pass laws more or less banning them from the right by taking it away. (very common here in CA.
Are they really so concerned that these people might actually "vote" ?

Re: Fox "News" makes this shit up!
LARA LOGAN (FOX NATION HOST): I don't buy it for a second, and I'll be honest with you. I really think that there's so much misinformation. We've never really seen anything like it. I mean, I've been covering wars now for 35 years. And I have never seen people with their nails done in the Ukrainian flag. Right? I mean, we're being corralled into this box where we either have to hate the Vladimir Putin and believe everything evil that's said about him, and love Ukraine, and there's no in between. And that reminds me a lot of you're either, you know, a white supremacist or you go with the Democrat narrative on everything under the sun.
So Vladimir Putin knew exactly what he was doing when he went into Ukraine. The Russian military isn't perfect. They — for example, I've spoken to multiple defense specialists and intelligence specialists from a defense intelligence agency who've studied the Russian military for years. They do have difficulty mounting complex air operations because they do very little training hours in comparison to, for example, the United States. Air assets right now, fighter jet pilots, but Russia is not struggling.
What Russia has done from the very beginning has been very strategic. They didn't go straight to Kyiv. They went to all those bioweapons laboratories that are scattered all over the country. Some of them they built. So they know where they are. They've known where they are since the Soviet Union, because under the defense threat reduction program, we went in after the fall of the Soviet Union, and supposedly they turned those facilities from bioweapons labs into public health labs. Although, you know, these days, it's hard to believe anything that our leaders tell us because they've lied about COVID. They lied about Russia collusion. They lied about the Ukraine impeachment trial.
And there's so much more going on in Ukraine that nobody is talking about. You see such dishonesty when it comes to the history of Ukraine. You see dishonesty when it comes to the Azov Battalion, which is funded by the U.S. and NATO. I mean, you can find pictures of them online holding up the NATO flag and the swastika. And at the same time, their own emblem contains the black sun of the occult, which was a Nazi SS emblem. And it also contains the sideways, you know, lightning insignia of the SS. I mean, this is on throughout the Ukrainian military you can see that black sun of the occult on their body armor, even on the female soldiers who are paraded in front of the world as being, you know, such an example of Ukraine's independence and spirit and nobility. Even they are wearing the black sun of the occult. And, you know, we want — the White House wants you to believe, well, this doesn't matter; it's just a small number of troops. It's not true. The Azov Battalion has been murdering its way through eastern Ukraine.

Re: Can't make this shit up!
The Suspending Normal Trade Relations With Russia and Belarus Act, passed by a 424-8 margin. Here are the 8.
The bill allows the President to increase tariffs on products coming from the two countries and requires the US trade representative to seek suspension of Russia's participation in the World Trade Organization.
Bill moves to the Senate.
https://ca.news.yahoo.com/8-house-repub ... 46421.html
Wild ass guess, these reps are either so poor and desperate in their corrupt campaign fundraising they align with Russian interests to get money, or so weak they need to send a bat-shit signal to Trump that they understand his properties are financed by Russian oligarchs.

Putin’s propagandist Margarita Simonyan, the head of RT and Sputnik, also spoke at the rally. She proudly reminded the attendees that she was one of the main agitators for Russia’s absorption of Ukraine’s Donbas region, repeating yet again: “Mother Russia, take Donbas home.” Simonyan asserted that in Ukraine, Russian soldiers are fighting “against the unclean,” using the word commonly describing imps and evil spirits in Russian fairy tales. She didn’t mention her own pre-invasion predictions that there would be no significant sanctions should Russia invade Ukraine, or her prior assertions that Ukrainians would welcome their Russian “liberators.”
