I am so new, I am Green

Hello,

My name is Symantha and I run a sex positive event space. This will be my first year attending Burning Man and while I am so excited I also feel like Kermit the Frog I am so green. I really have no idea where to begin in trying to find a camp or preparing for this. I am reading everything I can like a good little book worm but I still feel lost.

Currently I run an event space that promotes consent, sex positivity and exploration. I am not sure if there is a camp like this I could possibly join. I admit when I first meet people I am a bit of. Introvert but I am a hard worker and easy to get along with. Dare I even say fun once I get to know you.

A few years ago, there was a group using lawn spraying tanks to dye people head to toe in primary colors!

Where to start? Burning Man is a camping trip. So if you were going to take a week long car camping trip in a wilderness near you, what would you do?

Costumes-outfits can consume as much preparation as you like.

If you think through everyone you know, you probably have burner friends, or friends of friends who you could ask about how to prepare. And you probably have a "Burning Man Regional" you can connect to.

It’s a different world and what you do in real life pretty much means dick out in the dust.

I am definitely getting the ticket and going for it. I went to Love Burn this year but I feel I got spoiled a little with perfect weather on a Miami Beach. The experience was amazing and now I want to experience it all!!

Well, over the decades there have been many institutions of positive energy out there.

Some have come and gone, others have sprouted and flourished.

BED - Bureau of Erotic Discourse is a long-haul volunteer organization that is integrated into the fabric of the event. Maybe a good place to make connections.

The Orgy Dome is a well publicized legendary institution that is relatively recent in the history of the event.

The Great Canadian Beaver Eating Contest is likewise legendary.

Jiffy Lube was an epic institution for over a decade before retiring. Their legacy remains in the form of the geyborhood .

Many other more intimate camps also pop up, fold, evolve, but they tend to be off the radar.

You gotta mingle, explore, discover.
