Part 21 says the box office close at noon august 27, 2022.

I understand that the Box Office closes at 12 pm (noon) PDT on Saturday, August 27, 2022, and that no tickets or vehicle passes held for Will Call pickup may be collected after then. No refunds will be issued for participants who do not collect their tickets or vehicle passes before the Box Office closes.

Is this correct?

The date listed is the Saturday BEFORE gate opens.

Please go and read all about Burning Man, including the Survival Guide, which is mandatory reading.

Gate opens to the "public" who have valid tickets, be they physical or Will Call. (You are not legally allowed on the playa (off the highway), which is a BLM exclusion zone for the duration of Burning Man, unless you have a valid ticket. In the past, some of those going onto the playa to try and get a ticket have been fined, or even arrested.)
But a ~week earlier, BRC is open for those who are also holding Early Entry Passes, to allow time for building/installing the more elaborate camps or art. For that, Will Call needs to be open for those with Early Entry Passes who have Will Call tickets.

What I'm saying is that if I have tickets at will call, (say via STEP), I have to arrive by noon Saturday August 27, 2022 before gate opens for general ticket holder. I then have to wait around til 12:01AM Sunday to get thru gate.

Seems like the date is incorrect for when will call closes.

I haven't yet read through the particulars for this year, but as I understand it, they close the gate for a few hours right before the main entry begins, to allow them to reset and get ready for the big onslaught. Perhaps what you read is related to that and Will Call temporarily closes a little earlier even than the gate does. I'm not sure exactly what time Gate's interim starts, but I wouldn't think it would also need to be closed all the way from noon until midnight.

Sounds like the Terms & Conditions text could have been better written, perhaps by adding the word 'temporarily'.

The way it's worded, it closes at 12 noon. No pick ups after that.

Admittedly, I'm not seeing it in context here, but it seems on the surface like it should be brought to their attention. I'm beginning to think they screwed up the date itself.

I assure you though, that the Box Office and their Will Call shall be open throughout the week of the burn... unless it rains or there is a severe white out, etc., which can shut everything down temporarily.

OK, I went ahead and looked at the Terms and Conditions just now, and it sure seems to me that you are correct Art. Good catch! That's a pretty big screw up for something that is supposed to be BMP's formal terms.

Look;s the T&C's #21 have been corrected to read as follows,

Where will Will Call be located at 8 AM Sunday August 21? The normal location on Gate Road or at the Gerlach offices, or some other super secret location? I'm an ESD volunteer/participant and coming in with an Staff WAP/Early Entry Pass to set up our camp.

Closure order was July 28.

Tradition is to pound in the spike that day.

Odds really good that the fence is already up and the gate has been installed.

As for checking papers and such, no idea how that goes down anymore.

Last time I did 3-weeks before gate … 2010 for an art build … so my intel is very stale. Back then, gate was staffed if a bit slow and relaxed.
