Hi all, question about porta potty usage and pump outs.
The org-provided portos are the default option but we're looking into adding one porto for our village (~100 ppl) for certain reasons. Does anyone have any idea of porta capacity? How many "uses" are typical before needing a pump out? Thanks!

I'm not sure about the metric capacity but in general they hold a shitload. (I never claimed to be useful).roablep wrote: ↑Tue Jun 07, 2022 2:35 pmHi all, question about porta potty usage and pump outs.

Google says:
Portable Toilet Tank Capacity
Many porta potties have a limited holding capacity to accommodate 20 people or even less in one gathering, and the standard holding capacity will usually be 60 gallons. In contrast, wheelchair accessible porta potty will have a holding capacity of 70 gallons.
So I was right. 60 Gallons is a shitload.

the porto rental company might be the best place to ask that question. One would imagine they have answers and parameters/options.roablep wrote: ↑Tue Jun 07, 2022 2:35 pmHi all, question about porta potty usage and pump outs.

The average porta potty is able to hold enough sewage for 7 people over the course of a 40-hour work week.
If there's a porta potty in camp--locked and clean, most everyone is going to want to use it every time. It appears that you might need 4 porta potties and have them emptied every day. It gets expensive. this is where a lot of your ticket money is going.

Damn!
I thought I was gonna learn about how any people fit in a JOTS at the same time and then have fun stories to tell.
Silly me.
