Safe guarding when doing a ride share

Post by art walsh » Sun Jul 03, 2022 8:30 am

I have a VP and will be driving a small truck. Will have room to share with a fellow burner. Would be someone I would meet randomly in reno. What precaution should one take?
What would happen if the person has an invalid ticket? Can I check his/her ticket? Is the voided ticket listing kept current or does it lag a day? Would I, with a valid ticket be responsible to take the ride share person back to reno? would my ticket be seized? Also what about if he/she had drugs found?
Not paranoid, just cautious.

Ask to see the physical ticket or something (email maybe) that says they have a ticket at Will call.
In the past Ticketing has published a list of voided tickets. They where never able to keep it updated. No idea if they will do that this year.
Everyone is so politically fucked up that they're segregating themselves in the name of equal rights and liberation.

Physical ticket inspection.

Best you can do.

If you are going to will-call, ask to se their email printout, compare it to yours, verify their valid photo ID.

As for controlled substances, I sure hope they share some with you. ;)

That’s the big one for me. That can land YOU, the driver, in jail.

The 4 hours lost over a voided ticket pales in comparison to days spent in Lovelock slam over a holiday weekend with one semi-retired judge.
