EMT Conduit Ratched Guy directions

What's generally the preference/better for guying down (1/2"x14") for a small (12x20x8) EMT style shade structure with tarp top, and 70% aluminet walls except for 1 of the short sides as the front?

Guy out ~3-4' from the base with the ratchets? Or crisscross X along the sides and back, leaving the one 12' side guyed straight down along the poles? Or given the sides, crosscross X ~1' out from the base to give the walls some standoff from the center pole?

I like a single guy 2-4' from the base on any corners if space permits. If things are tight between the structure and other structures or vehicles I'm a big fan of double guying each corner, but instead of going out from the corners I go along the sides so that the guys are in line with the walls if that makes sense. The downside to that is you need twice as many ratchets for each structure.

Yeah, I was thinking of guying pretty close to in-line with the walls (the crisscross I mentioned), although I'm a little worried that there won't enough support against the wind when it comes across the long edge, since the middle and 1 side won't have any direct internal guying against the wind. Might just buy out some, and go for overkill. Always a good plan at BRC. And at least my walls are shade cloth, so a lot of the wind will go through it without putting too much force onto the poles.
