recommended misting system?
recommended misting system?
Our camp is planning to set up a misting system next year. Any recommendations? We are planning to drive the water pump using our solar power system. We can use either AC or DC current.

Maybe talk to Northwest Mist. They seem to have it mastered.

DC will be a little more efficient.
Everyone is so politically fucked up that they're segregating themselves in the name of equal rights and liberation.

There was a post about that here, but no specific suggestions.

Is it appropriate to assume the mist will evaporate before it hits the ground? I guess that might be the case, as long as it is indeed a mist. Just curious.

...the mist will evaporate before it hits the ground?

So many misters on the playa look great and feel good for a few seconds until you are covered with water.
Get ready to spend some big bucks to have a proper system that will make true mist.
Good luck.

The Dr. knows.
There are the toy-grade misting systems you can buy at any big box store that run on tap water at 40-80 PSI. Those are terrible wet, muddy affairs good for an accent on the kids slip-n-slide for some weekend fun in the back yard.
Then there is the real stuff. 1000 - 1500 PSI pumps, usually in the multi-Hp range, precision nozzles with nano-pores, and the pricy 3000 PSI lines. This stuff is magnificent! You can dial in a true mist or even fog out of the pro setups. Not a drop on the ground and no mud. Think thousands of clams to even get a starter kit.
To be honest, I’d go for one of the evaporative fan boxes if you have a relatively enclosed space. Self contained and no mud, just cooler air.
