I was gonna sign on to do video at Sea of Dreams but my wife reminded me that doing that shit, while enjoyable, stresses me out and she did not want a stressed out date for NYE.

Hell yeah.

This morning I talked to my dear, dear friend Sameh, my bestest friend in the west bank. I was worried all day because when i tried to call to say happy new year, the phone lines - 2 cell networks and the land lines - were all down (the army crashes all communications during major invasions). It seemed to be region wide, which really got me concerned.

Sameh is well, except so angsty that he broke his own damn hand (i got the impression that were he less principled he would have taken out the violence on someone else - but didn't want to, so now he has broken bones). And no one has been killed since 5 days ago, when special forces killed one and kidnapped one. All in all not a bad beginning to the new year, especially compared to the horrors of this time last year.

I feel so much better. And i'm so fuckin' grateful for little itty bitty mercies, and great friends, and people with principles, and international telecommunications, and .... hell yeah.

Oh! Speaking of hell yeah:

1) I got my tent cleaned from playa (the nekkid - in - the - bathtub - grape - stomping method)
2) and i finally removed the lengths of PVC from my mum's garage.

she'll be even more pleased than i am, maybe.

i feel so fuckin' accomplished.

my buddy kev has finally been convinced to come to BM. he's buying a ticket. after years of telling him, he's finally doing it. (he planned to eventually, but other things used to take priority)

Hell yeah, I'm such a good packer! I packed all day today- I'm so impressed with myself. Yesterday we moved over a few truckloads of firewood too. We had several folks stop by to welcome us to town and say how happy they are that we are moving into our new house. How very nice of them.
