I just saw the 2022 MOOP map. It's awesome and detailed even without the red + yellow. I noticed almost all of the spots from the H ring in are organized camps.
#1 - Are spots like that reserved? I don't want to park my stuff and then have to move it.
#2 - Are the spots from the H ring out basically a free for all?
Thanks very much

When you get to the gate, you will get a map of the open camping areas. Then when you find one, introduce yourself to your neighbors, then set up.

Blue flags on wires(the kind surveyors, farmers and locating companies use to mark things) denote Reserved camp space. This is mostly Theme Camps but also Art Support, Mutant Vehicle, Department and so on. Areas without blue flags marking them are open camping and that area is FCFS and people are asked to only utilize what they need.

Re: Going solo camp location
Hello,
This is Scott a.k.a. Gunny from Sarasota, Florida. I am attending Burning Man for the 1st time this year. I have a ticket and vehicle pass and I am prepared for a self-supported solo burn. I am a 55 year-old retired Marine Gunnery Sergeant. I would like to float the idea of coordinating an impromptu solo burner camp. Each self-reliant but in a group location so we could help each other. I am open to ideas, any thoughts?
