Many of us wash off the dust and feed our food holes post the burn in Reno. Some fly in and out. Some park their cars and BxB in and out. It's good to have a home base for prep, help at maker spaces, and outbound rest and do laundry.

The BDV pyroific chief has worked tirelessly to procure discounted rooms at the Reno Sands and organize before the pandemic, Amtrakathon. Welp, the hotel is upscaling and rebranding.

Jacobs Entertainment is the new owner of the Sands. Most of the locals in my sphere are not happy with jacobs and our city council but that’s a whole story in itself…

Anyhoo, they definitely gave it a makeover which is still on going.

They’ve renamed it “J” or as us locals call it, The Jands. You can wear your jorts at the Jands!
