Welcome Queenmela. I bumped your post over to help introduce yourself.
Many people camp in the open camping area their first year to get a feel for the city. You'll have many friendly burners in the same area, and can share meals and resources.
The first task is getting tickets, then read the First Timers Guide.
See you in August.

Hi Queenmela, Welcome.
Burning Man is a lot different than anywhere else you have been or will ever be. The best way to find a camp is first find a local Burner group, https://regionals.burningman.org/. Poke around and find a get together near you then go, socialize and volunteer.
Join any ticket sale you qualify for. Tickets are hard to get but they are available.
When you write to camps looking for a slot don't just ask what they are offering, yu need to tell them what YOU are offering them.
Good luck.
Everyone is so politically fucked up that they're segregating themselves in the name of equal rights and liberation.
