Hello Burner's
Im not a burner (unfortunatly, too far away from my place and too expansive to me), but i try to contribute to BM as a volunteer on the french wikipedia project.
2 years ago i have beguin to re write the (poor) french BM page. It was at this time just bad automatic translation of the english one. It is now, "not so bad", and with the help of other contributors, we have been able to make it, sorry for that, but i think it is true, even better than the english page.
But as Wiki is a constant work, always improving, i'm still in need of informations to update. Maybe some of you can help.
For example, the time line has not been updated in 2022. Then i miss some détails i wanted to add on our envent timeline.
Can someone tell me what was the height of the man in 2022 ? And if there is an official number of attendies, cause i only found an unofficial number of 80000 here ?
(PS those informations would be very welcome with a reliable source, that we need on Wiki, in order to be of its trustworthiness)

Thanks you all
Aristaeus
(yes i have a playa name even if never been there  )

Hello, Welcome to ePlaya. Did you know there are many French burners and in-person meetups & campouts all over Europe and the UK you can participate with in person?

They are https://regionals.burningman.org/.

It would be better to work with the main people in the French regional - message them at [email protected].

If you do it on your own, you may have information that is not correct which will lead to many edits. Plus if you meet your French burners in person you will find they are excellent people!

I think the webcast from the playa begins next Friday https://burningman.org/live-webcast/, BMIR should be streaming https://bmir.org/. Sure there are many discords and there is probably a French burning man on Facebook.

Hello some seeing eye,
thanks for your greetings !
Yes, as i had worked a bit on the wiki page, i know there are regional events and meetings. But actually i'm interested not specificly on the "regional" ; my questions are at present about the BM itself as you may noticed in my post ;-)
Moreover meeting people in burns is not my goal, as told i'm not a burner (BM is not for everyone). I'm just interested in spreading knowlegde about the BM, on wiki.
I thought eplaya could be the right place to get some info, "at the root" . Or maybe should i ask to BM organisers ?
Thanks for your support and help !

If you are technically inclined, the published datasets are rich in information.

https://innovate.burningman.org/datasets-page/

May not have all the details but it is a start.

Later this year, when the 2023 burn settles, maybe ask Kim Cook

Aristaeus, that's quite an undertaking! Looking at the Wikipedia page, it seems nothing was omitted.
Thank you for doing this!
