Personally, this is pure poetry for me.

Two consecutive brutal years.

This may be the “reset” many dreamed about.
I’d like that. This could scrape off the non-campers. I think most people I know would be ok, some would really like the challenge, and all would be wonderful neighbors. Does disaster curb demand? I won’t say. Did Fyre2 sell out its’ first ticket offering with no date, line-up, or location? Are Everest permit numbers going down?

I believe this was 2013 or 14, and looks like all the pictures they had on the news channels.

Rain started at 1AM right after I parked on opening night.

Went to bed planning on set up in the morning.

Rained hard all night.

By tuesday everything was back to abnormal. 8)

The news station that I listen to just reported that the average income of the average burner is $300,000 a year.

Mine was about $50,000 for the years I went, and I don't think I met that many of that higher figure...................

consider the source: "news station". they, none of them, fact check info, or even care to. they report what sounds good. Local news, sometimes, gets local stories correct....that's about it.

"The RV hit the river going between 45 and 65 miles per hour–I’m not quite sure exactly how fast–and mud splattered all over the front end, blinding us. Every object that was not secured in the back of the RV. Bikes, propane tanks, and jars of pickles flew in the air. I slowed the vehicle to a stop, turned on the windshield wipers, and looked in my side-view mirror. The river was claiming more victims, but those who ripped through it at high velocity were able to clear it. Speed was the key."

Using commercial fryers with oil heated to 380 degrees, Phoenix claimed to fry and powder over 12,000 hand-rolled beignets (with a perfectly fluffy interior and subtle sweetness) over the course of ten days. “We’re legends out here,” he said.

“‘By the way,’ he says, fingering the fabric, ‘I’m loving this leather jacket on you.’ His hand slips under my blazer, then my skirt.”

“I feel his frozen fingers trail up my thigh,” she writes. “He tilts his chin up. The whites of his eyes look jaundiced. My eyes dart to John Eastman, who flashes a leering grin.”

“I fight against the tension in my muscles and recoil from Rudy’s grip … filled with rage, I storm through the tent, on yet another quest for Mark,” she writes, a reference to her then-boss Meadows.

A January 2024 study explored how sleep deprivation influences our mood and behavior. In this research, scientists observed sleep-deprived mice and found that lack of sleep can trigger a mix of behaviors—increased activity, heightened social and sexual interactions and a decrease in depressive-like actions. These changes were found to be closely linked to dopamine activity in specific brain regions.

The ongoing surge of immigration to the United States will boost its economy by $7 trillion over the next decade by expanding the labor force and increasing consumer demand, a report from the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office found.

This will add an extra $1 trillion in revenue to the government’s coffers, resulting in an annual budget deficit of 7% by 2034, lower than previously expected.

The CBO report came out the same day Senate Republicans blocked a bipartisan border bill that was the product of months of fierce negotiations over immigration, which is shaping up to be a hot-button election issue.

“The U.S. economy has benefited from immigration,” Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell said this week.

Amazon cloud robot grocery checkout requires human overseers to do the work. Amazon shuts down system.

https://www.engadget.com/amazon-just-wa ... 03603.html

"Just over half of Amazon Fresh stores are equipped with Just Walk Out. The technology allows customers to skip checkout altogether by scanning a QR code when they enter the store. Though it seemed completely automated, Just Walk Out relied on more than 1,000 people in India watching and labeling videos to ensure accurate checkouts. The cashiers were simply moved off-site, and they watched you as you shopped."
