FanShield, Protecht, Insurance, Gate Closure etc.

Have any late comers to this 2023 Burning Man event, who couldn't get in due to gate closure, received an insurance payment from FanShield, or is that not a covered reason?

It might be better to ask on Reddit or Facebook for a bigger audience.

Are you curious, or aggrieved? It would be interesting to know how that is working out for people who bought the insurance.

I would do a deep dive on the website of your carrier, or just ask them. If somebody chimes in here with a first hand story that would be good information. I am suspecting that there may be zones outside of zones, or seasons, or off-road locations, declared not protected.

With a simple glance at fanshield’s website, I noted a bullet point list of items protected against, which included “•unforeseen severe weather…” (It’s an uneducated hunch I have: Here’s where widespread event documentation, skewed toward “severe,” might could help a policy holder. hmmm).
