Jesus! Right on, broheme.

Giggs, that reminds me of when I worked as a temp in a research lab at Rockefeller University in New York City and I had to transcribe lots of stuff about research into drugs that might work to get addicts off of crack and herion. The lead researcher liked to dictate on the weekend while sitting poolside with her grandchildren, whom I could hear goofing around in the background, birds twittering, her wine glass clinking, etc...

Temping was a joy, let me tell you.

Off to buy some apricot juuuuuuuice, honey, and lemons. Sniffle.

Last year at a white elephant gift exchange me and some ranger's mom competed quite vigorously for a vibing prize. Much to the poor boy's embarassment.

I used to be sent to pick up soup from the real soup nazi on West 55th Street in NYC because it was next door to a film lab we used. He really did yell at you if you asked for more bread or failed to move to the side immediately after you ordered. The soup was damn good, though, but what an asshole.

Water's almost up. Yee-hooo.

I've been to nyc twice or thrice in my life. Little ole girl from little ole arkansaw, my mouth hung open the entire time I was there.....dumbfounded! We went to a bagel shop where there were as many people in line as in my entire home town.

Now, being a nice southern girl, I take my time about things. And especially in a new place, already on sense-overload, my mind would not give me a decision about what to order........

nyc is full of nazis......line nazis, bagel nazi, cashier nazi. I think I left in tears (and still hungry).

I remember standing on a street corner, near the front of hte horde, and people behind yelling for people in front to move it before hte light even changed!......while a taxi nearly took out a baby stroller, the driver all greasy in a wife beater smoking a cigar, simultaneously honking, sneering, and flipping the baby off......

*bounds in the door with a bag of lemons and a gallon jar of honey from Pike Place Market*

Step aside, please. I need some room. Anyone who's sick, I'm making you some warm sweet goodness, and you're going to drink it and feel better, got it??

*turns on the hottub and opens the cover* For the steam... it's gonna get nice and steamy in here...

*lines up a bunch of mugs on the bar. Pours hot hot water into each mug, squeezes half a lemon into each, two heaping spoons of honey into each, stirring and stirring and stirring*

Here. Now, everyone take one...

I want you to SIP it.. OFTEN. when you're not sipping, keep it close to your face, so you can just bathe in it... your sinuses will thank you.

I have lots more here, too. You're all going to drink these all day long. It should make you feel better...

After you're done with your first one, I'll put a shot of scotch into your next one, deal?

M'kay.... everyone grab a spot under the blanket... this is immune system rehab day...

I've got several feelers (feelies?) out right now, but nobody is nibbling. I have my resume in five different places but it has basically started this week... last week was a weird week in Portland.

It drives me nuts that, on the one hand, I do a good job wherever I work, but on the other hand, I piss people off when I do it. I'm not a political animal and I'm terrible at kissing ass (as you may have noticed, having spent more than five minutes with me) so that my personal references all read like an comparison survey (he's a good worker, however don't get in his way; He gets things done, but he doesn't work well with idiots).

Aw, fuck that. I'll find something... something where I won't have to say, "Do you want fries with that?"

More scotch, please...

Good luck in your hunt Sam I will keep my eyes open for ya. Job hunting sucks and then once you find a job it usually takes about 1 month before you realize it is horrible but by then you are trapped.

What kind of work do you do, Sam? Things are starting to ramp up again down here. Companies are advertizing again for positions on the radio during rush hour. One tech company yesterday was sounding like they were ramping the entire company up and were hiring "in all areas of the company".

Very little technical skill.... although I can run just about any program once I'm trained, but who wants to spend money on training? Sales and personnel management have been my forte's for years... advertising on the radio, eh... that's when they're desperate for bodies... I've got family down there... maybe I'll get them to check shit out for me.... I hate not "doing something"... Thanks, Geekster
