Biogas
Instead of or in addition to all the portopotties and bringing in fuel, we can create biogas to use for vehicles, installations and generators on-site. Then, haul away just the fertilizer. If the consensus is up, I'd be honored to present a full plan for this.

Welcome to ePlaya.
Do you know about the Burning Man sustainability project? It is https://burningman.org/about/about-us/sustainability/. You can read about what they are doing and see their discussions on hive.burningman.org. Then you can find who to contact.

Re: Biogas
The problem that I see with biogas is the time it takes to make it. Garbage has to be converted into methane by bacteria which is not something that happens overnight.
Everyone is so politically fucked up that they're segregating themselves in the name of equal rights and liberation.

I don't know about the rest of you, but Burning Man is the one week of the year when I just don't poop. So I'll be unable to contribute to this ingenious project.

Re: Biogas
Change in altitude messes with pooping. That includes traveling by land or air. I learned this from medical professional friends, of course there is scientific name. I may have heard a rumor of individuals experiencing poop constipation traveling at altitude to the burn and on playa. Poop promotion, like caffeine may help. Maybe non-digested poop additions, like psyllium may help.FlyingMonkey wrote: ↑Thu Jun 20, 2024 8:51 amI don't know about the rest of you, but Burning Man is the one week of the year when I just don't poop. I was kidding. I have over the years come to embrace the Portos.
With early entry and leaving on Tuesdays I think I'd exode if I didn't.
Is Porto methane production included in the Burning Man carbon footprint? Or is that irreverent since we'd produce it anyway no matter where we were?
