Well, it seems that we have been lurkers, but still here. Hey Savannah, has been 12 years or so since we met at the burn. I am starting the prep mode over here....again.

I think I found out why there is so little traffic on this forum the last few years.

Out of curiosity I just googled ePlaya and the forum doesn't even show up as an option. :roll:

Hi Figjam,

I just searched Google, Bing, yahoo and yandex and ePlaya came up right away.

I think the lack of participation has much more to do with the format, people going to Reddit, and the fact that this is no longer a site for Burners to exchange ideas like the good old days. It has devolved in to a non-stop political comentary by people who have strong convictions and apparently lots of time to post and create memes.

I mean seriously, go to active topics and look at the top 3 to 4 threads. They have nothing to do with Burning Man on most days.

Can you honestly say that ePlaya holds the same value for people wanting to exchange ideas about Burning Man or Virgins seeking advice?

The young Burners needed to keep the population stable are not going to come here when they can find what they need on Facebook and Reddit.

Say somebody wants to do something that they've thought about and asked everybody but their grandpa how to do it.

Grandpa is old, so they didn't ask him, but he knows absolutely everything about what they want to do.

And the easiest way to do it.

That's what I think of when I think of ePlaya. :D
