Luring the 3playans

Post by theCryptofishist » Wed Jan 05, 2005 3:42 pm

Okay I admit it. I talk sh*t about 3playa. I still want you back.

I don't know what I have to offer, but I'm out here bleeding.

Please come back, all of you. Together we can hybredize into a better, stronger, faster, $6 million board.

3smooches to ya all.

nah. if you did, you'd be busy in the eplaya feedback section telling spanky that his technical decisions are full of shit.

btw - i'm probably out of here again soon...

For me a lot of the difference comes from how much your on, it seems like when I go to 3playa there are 1500 posts on a thread since last I was there so I always end up going to the last page and start working forward. also not Ideal.

Also I always try to not be judgmental about anything, the best I can do is know what's right for me and there seems to be more a bit more of a judgmental and negative flavor to a lot of the threads.

Hey but I do think It's good to have a diverse place for every one to find their own flavor.

I can't remember who used it first, whether it was theCryptofishist or maybe AntiM, but I love that word, "bi-boardal".

Remember, Woody Allen said the thing about bisexuality that intrigued him most was that it immediately doubled your chances for a date Saturday night.

We've got options, and I refuse to feel excluded. So there.

>1500 posts on a thread

that's how i feel when i come here.

i think the thread management tools make the big difference between how people view the two fora: on this one, you see everything and get to (or have to, depending on viewpoint) select what you're going to read.

the 3playa is more designed to let you set up your interests and sort of interests and no interests (via the priority links at the top of each thread) and then plow through everything using the "next unread" link. for people who are uncomfortable having a machine doing all there filtering for them, i can see how the 3playa would be bothersome. me, my brain doesn't work well enough to keep track of where i have or have not read.

He neglected to note that it also doubles your chances to get turned down or stood up. :-P

No reason you should either, I've been spending a fair amount of time reading over there. I guess I'm a little more intimidated about posting there, I don't know why.

>don't know why

probably because the people over there come off as a bunch of intolerant hardasses. which they are, especially if you're an idiot. which you're not. but until you try it out, it can be tough to tell the difference.

The question of where did I leave off reading is somewhat secondary to me, as the energy present in the moment seems to be lost (or at least fading) when I read to catch up.......being here in hte moment is where it's at (thus my addiction issue.......can't look away lest I miss it).

I shall remain biboardal, and wonder why I subject myself to "Burning Man Bitch Fest" every day without fail even though it slowly kills my psyche, and will continue to pretend like the two fora (crush: III for "fora") are still kinda the same thing for me, and I'll apologize not.
