Hi gang, Doc here. (And a special hello to theCryprofishist, enjoyed you at BDC&WB last year; how'd the wedding go?) The main reason I am an infrequent visitor to this forum is that the filters at work will not allow me into any website that goes through burningman.com; it seems they have a problem with "nudity", and the 3playa does not have that "problem". But I check in about once a week, flirt with stickysunset, poke at the respective Wheeeee!villians here and about, and then go on my way. As we get closer to the event (or in Trey's world, the ordeal) I will, for one, be checking in here more often. After all, we need to plan for the 2005 MeetNGreet, ride sharing, logistics planning, and general misbehavour that is the heart of this thread. But don't think you're being ignored, it's just not as user-friendly as the 3playa. You guyz are great and the newbies to this forum I am looking forward to meeting in August. So much from me. Carry on.

All your infernal racket has roused me from my slumber, Cryptofishist.

So... I’ve been asleep for a while, but see things still proceedeth a pace here in the dark, dusty, ever-winding labyrinth of the eplaya. I seem to remember a dreamy vision of wandering over to the 3playa at some point. If I remember this dream state journey correctly, I enjoyed the faster paced threads and seemingly real time interactions. However, I live three hours behind most everyone who posts there, and when you factor in my steam powered modem connection, it works out to be about 2.81 days lag time between those wonderful, beautiful 3playans and myself. By the time I set the type for the phrase , “Yeah, I hear ya, sister!!”, then turn the correct valves, stoke the boiler, and pull the mammoth “SEND” switch (which is a feat in itself, lemme’ tell ya), they’ve already added 6 pages to the thread.
I got a brand new, big ‘ol honkin’ pneumatic blacksmithing hammer in the shop in 2004 and it’s been keeping me mucho busy and unable to post too, opening all kinds of new doors for metalwork.... but also new doors for playa art projects!!! Heh, Heh, Heh. (gears in head turning)
But now that the theme has been announced I’m feeling the need to be interactive about it. I guess, being the slow, pokey thing that I am, the eplaya seems more attuned to my method of operations. So I’ll be checking in here from time to time once again. May have mentioned before that I’m a solitary type of creature in a lot of ways, but the time is coming ‘round for some company. Besides... BM04 was just a great, wonderful time... but I didn’t get to catch up with those whom I’ve talked to here. I was just wandering around aimlessly saying, “Wooo-oW!!”. Before I knew it, they were setting some real tall guy on fire out there in the middle and the time to leave was right around the corner. So... ‘05 I must make up for lost time. My feet are now officially wet now... I’ve divin’ on in.
Oh... shit...yeah...
About that thread topic. Well... don’t know if it helps, but I’ll offer what support I may to the effort. Besides, if we just hang around and have fun, get into some really out there stories and the like, they’ll come back ‘round sometimes.
