All things outside of Burning Man.

You have to register as a refugee in something like 24 hours or you can't get the status. A lot of the people who end up there thought they were going to Canada (apparently that's the most helpful place right now) and don't speak the langauge and are just dumped at random someplace. It's a huge beaurocratic process designed to disenfranchise the most vulnerable. There was a link on that Leeds Uni page to a study someone had done that said that the process was bad and unhelpful. Not the sort of details that I've gotten from my sister, but it was good to hear some sort of criticism that might make a difference.

I was in London this past May and had a great time, the weather is not much to speak of, but everything else is very interesting & fun. Good people!

London Bars -

The Underworld (live music)- Camden Town - by the way, they sell mushrooms legally all over Camden town (very strange)
The Worlds End (cool bar & tunes)- Camden Town
The Crobar (punk / rock dive)- Soho
Garlic & Shots ( upstairs food / basement metal & shot bar)- Soho

London sites -

Just a great town to walk around in, lots of pubs, museums, shows, and historical sites. Stonehenge is close enough for a day trip. I didn't make it, but I hear the Imperial War Museum is fantastic.

By the way, if you go to "Garlic and Shots" try the Bloodshot and also the Deer Hunter. This place has over a hundred shots and many of them have garlic in them, strange, but not to be missed.
