Lights, Sputnik. Just white little lights. Straight up to infinity. A fucking amazing effect. I'll post a pic in a second. I am getting interested a helium blimp that the manufacturer calls the "wind buster" or some shit that can keep a considerable payload aloft in a breeze. Costs a bit, though.

We take it down when the wind comes up. I had a big parafoil kite capable of lifting 25 pounds in a stiff wind, but it got ripped off in 2003. I may spring for another if I don't get the blimp. Hope to exceed 200 feet in '05.

I brought a kite and a couple thousand feet last year, but never got it off the ground. The blimp sounds good since you don't need wind to keep it up.

anyway, how about this thought of tethered floating transliscent balloons with video and optics inside. Huh? Huh?

Video optic inside with a trigger tied into the mouth of the baloon so when the tie down for the balloon is tugged even gently it changes the image. I know you could make that happen. You could even add a midi trigger and add sound effects of things falling.

Just a few thoughts. My brain is in that mode tonight.

I was thinkin I would just have a cart with a workstation attached and use 50' s-video cable running up to the projector. I could roll the cart into sound camps and do VJing in the lofty balloon(s).

That would be pretty bad ass. I would dig dancing then all of the sudden see balloons showing bad ass visuals.
