i crush bullD for making me laugh. especially the maggots bit. i really crush bullD for continuing to attempt to get the best of me, even though it's not going to happen.

i think these last few days have firmly added bullD and Lamplighter Duke to the list of people i SIMPLY MUST MEET. if i ask pretty please will you all come for my birthday?

I crush Camille for the advice she gave me that took me a week to figure out what it meant. I know now, I wish I would have realized it last night.

Ranger Genius, for quoting Stoppard.

Hey RG, is it coincidence that your initials are the same as Rosencrantz and Guildenstern?

We'll pretend it's not. One of those happy accidents that you just accept...like my being dubbed as "Genius..." I didn't pick it, but I sure didn't argue. And a friend of mine whose initials are QED...her parents didn't think of it, but she likes it anyway.

"All your life, you live so close to the truth, it becomes a permanent blur in the corner of your eye, and when something nudges it into outline, it's like being ambushed by a grotesque."

I do have a tendency to quote Stoppard with (to those who know me) annoying frequency. I can quote large portions of that particular play from memory, and my friend and I did a roving impromptu reading of it last year. It was interesting to see the reactions of people as we walked past. heh, heh.

A crush for RJ for noticing.

As her her tears wet my shoulder and her soft murmurs drift into sleep she slowly shudders. I draw her near. She has forgiven and she pains. I cannot ever be the pride of her again but I try. We strike forward through these deep waters in search of footing to stand tall. I crush her more than she will ever know.

I'm sure you'll get your chance. Stoppard, Beckett, Albee, all often find their ways into my repertoire. Rhinoceros is one of my favorite plays ever, also one of my favorite poems (Ogden Nash), if only for the deliberate forced rhyme.

Did you guys ever notice how the word 'misology' - a hatred of argument, reasoning, or enlightenment - is listed in Webster's right after the word 'misogynistic' - having a showing a hatred or distrust of women?

Weird, huh?

The term Theater of the Absurd derives from the philosophical use of the word absurd by such existentialist thinkers as Albert Camus. Camus argued that humanity had to resign itself to recognizing that a fully satisfying rational explanation of the universe was beyond its reach; in that sense, the world must ultimately be seen as absurd.

I was in one of Beckett's plays when I was in college years ago. Gotta love that theater of the absurd for a fast B+ to knock out that semester liberal arts elective. Also came to terms with Camus' argument that a rational explanation of the universe was folly and that I should instead invest my energies in pursuing my blooming relationship with with a vacuum cleaner. I took it as my date to a fraternity formal.

I Disagree:

There is a rational explination of the Universe, but it is counterintuitive, and unprovable... wait... that takes it out of the area of rationality, doesn't it?

Nevermind, carry on...

Hugs to all, regardless of age, sex, orientation, mass, charge, or isotopic spin. May all of the wounded receive compassion, and may we all feel moved to pass it along.
