I had the same experience...my best friend in high school had moved there (UT) from Georgia. Turns out he had been born in UT...on the same day as me..in the same hospital, two hours before me and delivered by the same doctor. I called him "Old man," and accused him of going senile, and he pointed out when we debated that he was older than me and knew better: "you need to learn to respect your elders!" We had a lot in common, too, but it was the differences that made us best friends.

My dear sweet little sister.
Born Jand 16th, 1967.
Died August 20th, 1995? Getting fuzzy on the year--is that a good sign?

The 16th is my biological sister's birthday, too, she's two years younger than me. Didn't die, in fact she's the one who searched for and found me.
Ranger Genius: we weren't the best of friends, both of us too fractious and independent to even get along (there's a certain chemistry to Capricorn Metal Oxen), but I'm the older of the two of us — by four hours

Thank You, Everyone!
Thanks for all of the Happy Birthday wishes yesterday. I had a great birthday! It was definately one for the record books, although I've felt like shit all day because of last night's excesses.
I'll post all the gory details in the "Confessions" thread when I get home from work in a few hours.

Wow, thanks y'all!
I'm not yet sure if I'm going to get to come to Bman this year. The big fat mortgage payment that came with my new house has definately caused me to adjust my spending habits. I've recently discovered these, to me, radical new concepts that are changing my life, people call them "budgeting" and "balancing your checkbook." Wow! Talk about your mind-blowers, hooda thunkit.
Last year, between the Bman ticket, plane ticket, RV rental, gas, yada yada, going to Burning Man cost me about $1,600. I know it can be done for much less, say $1,100-$1,200 or so if I still want to rent an RV. I had a blast last year and I really want come again, but I'm just not sure if I can afford it.
We'll see, I reckon. If I do come to the burn, I will be at the M&G!

Y'know, RoF...you paid $1600 last year and you'll do it again this year, after a couple years you could buy a used camper van or camper with that.
If you have a truck you can get a camper for it. Check Craig's List and/or see if there's a Freecycle community near you. I see people offering campers on the Portland one from time to time.
'Course gas for cross-country would be a ringer unless you have a Costco membership (IMO, everyone should, especially if they're doing a theme camp). They have gas stations at their warehouses now.
