yeah. your number still should be on my fridge.

i have a feeling i'll be bedding down early. I'm dreaming of doing dishes, and hanging up some laundry... maybe i'll scrub out the bathroom. does it mean that i'm getting old when this starts to sound kind of enjoyable? or just boring?

on a random note, here's a burner anecdote for ya: we had burnt movie night last night, which is a themed potluck movie night. (The theme this week was breakfast.) Out of more than a dozen people there, i think only two of them brought food items. Clearly this community is not much for traditional breakfasts. But there were lots of mimosas....

I decided to be courageous and have my tickets held at will call. So I sure as hell hope that I have no issues.

I hope all of you are having a spectacular day. Mine is off to a hell of a start but I won't complain. Instead someone choose a drink for me that will get the day moving. I need to go and get a few records picked up tonight and also my big synth. It is just sitting and weeping for me.

I go back and forth: sometimes, I have to have sweet sweet sweet. sometimes savory is the only way to go.

i had a vampire lover (the kind we were talking about yesterday, who suck your spirit and energy from you without giving back) who used to make some amazing savory oats for breakfast.

Hmmm. all this breakfast talk makes me want a bloody mary.

barkeep?

Yup. I enjoy bacon for breakfast too. None of that pinko commie vegetarian crap for me, either.

My favorites are bacon ... Jimmy Dean sage flavor sausage ... scrapple ... corned beef hash ... small breakfast delmonico steaks ... eggs scrambled with a lot of mild salsa. Oh, and spoon bread slathered in butter. If you have never had spoon bread think of a corn meal soufle. Totally yummy while hot. Sucks playa rocks when cold. And it falls easily so tiptoe around the oven.

I would have to fast for several days to justify eating like that.... I would balloon up even bigger than I already am if I ate like that.... but, it sure as hell sounds good!!

Oh, I don't eat them all at ONCE ... or even OFTEN. Most days my "breakfast" is a cup of coffee and a "big bite" hot dog from 7/11

Hon, that's because by about 11 a.m., we stop calling it breakfast and start calling it "lunch."

Kristine, who is already thinking of making spoon bread this weekend ... it's yummy ... my favorite is with butter and grape jelly. And the best part? The kids won't really eat it...

11 AM would technically be brunch, methinks.

Me and the mrFishist have a running joke about the awfulness of 7/11 hotdogs.

So brunch is technical these days? I remember when it was special and informal.

Oh yes. Ever since the landmark case Brunch v. Bagel, 1989. Split Decision. And of course the subsequent Brunch Standardization Act of 1991.

Oh yeah, I remember that now. That's why I ran off to live in the woods without electricity--just too traumatic.

There is ONE 7/11 that does them right. At Benton and Lawrence in Sunnyvale (or is that Santa Clara?) The guy that owns it is named Ray and he only uses the Oscar Meyer beef hotdogs and tosses them when they are on too long. THAT is the place to get a hot dog.

It is far easier just to have flings with yourself, trust me. The formal dating process gets expensive and tiresome. If you must, send yourself flowers after a night of self sex- but try not to give too much of a promise of commitment in case you just want to have a quickie with yourself later.

The idea of going to staclaco for a 7/11 hot dog is too disturbing to my reality. Ithink I must go to the woods for another two years. However, the mrFishist does eat the things, so maybe he'd do it.
