I fucking hate trying to look for jobs that I'm just going to hate a month after I start working. I also fucking hate trying to write cover letters and resumes to these fucking companies. I hate writing in a formal way. I was never good at it, and I hate that it takes me hours to do. I hate working for big box retailers. I hate the fact that the only experience I have is in retail. I hate looking for jobs! Aaaarrrrrrrrgggggghhhhhhh! FUCK!

A beaurocratic love story:

My wife HAS to have a copy of the Manual for Courts-Martial (she's a Master at Arms in the Navy...it's a reference material she needs), but the Gov't GPO (I think that's General Publishing Office) doesn't print them anymore. The only form the current edition is available in is a PDF file. So I'm stuck printing the damn thing. It's 891 pages. That's a lot for a piece of shit inkjet printer. I've used up three complete ink cartridges so far. At $30+ bucks each. It's better than the weapons handling document she has to know in order to advance... "NTRP 3-07.2.2" As far as I can tell, it doesn't actually exist. I find plenty of documents that refer to it, but I can't find it. I found the email address of the guy who supposedly WROTE it, but I can't find it. BASTARDS! FUCK!

Well! If either of you are good at driving in the snow and want to move to Canada, I have a job for you! Unfortunately, you won't be able to spend your days on the eplaya because you'll be out doing deliveries.

I haven't returned the message of my fucking employee who fucking walked out. I'm too offended to talk to him I think, although I know how I want to tell him off.

Yeah, and last night I did a rough guestimate at how much this walker is costing me, and I'm more pissed off with him. I'll probably also have to delay my moving for a month, so I'll be paying extra rent for two months instead of one. Fucking jerk.

speaking as a manager who had this happen a couple weeks ago (well, he didn't WALK off, but he text messaged me that he was resigning on New Year's Day, leaving me the ONLY EMPLOYEE)...

WAIT to talk to him. Personally, i had the person i was with at the time HIDE MY PHONE for me... so i wouldn't call and tell him off. If, after a sufficient time, you still want to talk to him, then do it... you'll be much more levelheaded and ready for some REAL fucking ASS KICKING.

Personally: I waited until I had to call him to return his keys and such, and then was sacchrine sweet, was all business when he came in to turn in his keys, and then have masacred him in any call I get from anyone he's seeking employment from.

Be REALLY careful on this one. Don't make any claims that can remotely sound like opinions. Intel only verifies that the person had worked here- they do not give feedback. Why? Unless you can prove it in a court of law, companies stand a big chance at hungry lawyers getting nice payoffs for libel/slander.

So you could state that he left without notice. And any other provable facts, like being late to work 'x' number of times. Or any official write ups that he personally signed.

Oh, believe you me. I'm careful.

left without notice.
was consistantly late and written up for it.
consistantly under charged customers and was written up for it.

things like that.

I'm a good manager. I don't let my opinions get in the way...

FUCKING ARROGANT PEOPLE!!
I went downtown and parked at a meter while my mom ran into an office....as I was sitting in the car waiting and reading a book a truck pulled up to the left of me. A woman (I wont call her lady!) comes over to me and tells me I'm parked in a handicapped spot and not at the meter (not true I was parked correctly) I said "I'm parked between the lines and it 's not a blue (handicapped)spot....She says, "We're taking the meter". The guy procedes to put money in my meter!! Meanwhile I see there is a car parked illegally in a spot near the meter they should've plugged and it's flashing red..expired! Sorry, but I hope the B**** gets a fucking ticket!!
So the theme this year is like a giant camp out in the desert? With people bringing lots of shit from all over? uh.. -Marscrumbs

Fuck, RG ... you need to learn how to refill ink cartridges. Some people find it incredibly difficult, I find it incredible easy (especially if you're just printing black).

You could also print the pages 2 up on each sheet -- 12 point type is still very readable in this size ... I do it all the time for SEC data and even the financial tables are readable.

Finally, fuck, you could also lower the resolution. My inkjet has BEST, NORMAL, FAST NORMAL and FAST DRAFT. The draft mode obviously uses the least ink, but I use it for things like handouts for my Girl Scouts. It's perfectly readable. Fast Normal is now my default ... it's just fine.

Kristine, feeling fucking overwhelmed. Again.

Oh yeah, re: the walker, thanks for the ideas. I've decided to hold off on calling him, if I ever will. My dad, who's a bit of a tough boss, says forget it, don't call him ever, which I'm inclided to agree with, since I really don't have anything to say to him...although I would like to tell him off but I'm sure he knows I'm pissed since I haven't returned his call. I've done up his roe and last cheque and I'm done with him. I sooo wanted to put that he was fired on his roe but whatever. I don't want to put any more energy into someone like that. Oh- roe = record of employment (not sure if you have those)- it's like your 'permanent record' of employment and affects whether or not you can get Employment Insurance. The government keeps them forever or something like that.

I ran into his (ex-ish) girlfriend last night who apologized for him, she thinks he was out of line, and I let her know I thought he wasn't too cool for it so I'm sure he'll here that. And yeah, he walked because he's upset about her moving out so I'm sure his walking will really help out with that. Loooo-zah.

Wonderfully, someone stopped in who is looking for a job today, and a past employee has offered to fill in for a couple months.

Okay, well, I guess I will put more energy into this as I'm going to convince my girlfriend to drink red wine with me tonight to bitch and be bitter about our jobs.

Fuck, come on over, Blue ... if you leave right now you might be here by Monday. But carry chains, you might need them over the pass.
