LeChat, I only know a little about astrology. But there is the sun sign, which is your birth sign, then the moon and rising signs and those are computed by the year and time you were born. I can't remember my rising sign.

I was born on a monday, of all days, at exactly 11:48 am. I think that's why I'm a night owl. (wink)

I don't think we should ever forget that we are a part of the natural world, but there really is no harmony in nature in the way most people think of the word harmony. Nature is always working to obtain a balance but balance is a temporary state, and a new plague comes along to correct things,.. nature is about conflict and death as well as life. And that’s not a bad thing, or a good thing it just is.

I believe completly in astrology, and I contemplate reincarnation often. But something deep down tells me that my lesson in this life is balance. In some ways I stradle two worlds, and in other ways I find myself at two extremes at once. Often contradicting myself. Like for instance, I'm a complete independent when if comes to politics.

Yes Z, but I think that nature has been out of balance lately. Man has abused the natural world and nature is becoming more violent trying to correct itself.

not sold on it completely, but there are some "memories" that I can't quite explain, and I'm drawn to certain things for reason that make so apparent sense to me.

I don't think that balance is a temporary state. I think harmony is a temporary state, and balance is an ever going struggle. Balance takes place over many years. Harmony is only a moment.

every once in a while on my itunes..some of the "sounds of burning man" will play. It just makes me stop.. turn it up real loud to surround myself with the sounds of it all.

Then some soundgarden plays.. or some other song and that little brief moment of "being back onthe playa" vanishes again.

I think that's why I'm not terribly worried about the natural world, It can take care of it's self,.. it might mean humanity will be slapped down to a fraction of it's current population but life will continue in some form.

LeChat, I'm not sold on reincarnation either. I tend to be open to many things without having very many strong beliefs. I think that people that tend to have very strong convictions, are not open to new ideas. I prefer to be skeptical of everything, and just like to think on things. I tend to see both sides of issues very often

It’s interesting how there are fluctuations maintaining that balance in nature (life/death) on multiple levels.

Step back and look and what seemed like a major event was actually just one of many back and forth events along a timeline that we have a hard time wrapping our minds around. We think living 100 years would be a long time. Ask the redwood tree... or the stone... or the water.

I agree Z... I still take a stewardship approach despite this, And I hurt for the earth, but she'll be around long after we've gone back into her. I hurt more for the pain and grief felt by both the individual and the communal human spirit when things are so out of whack between two or more parts of the natural world (man/nature)

I think i'm gonna do another dress series next year.. depending on what i get together sewing wise this year. But it will be probably to similar style/crazyness that that dress was.

I downloaded that a while back... man did it take a while, but it was worth it. And there’s a few songs on some of my house compilation CD’s... they’ll reach a point in the crescendo of the music and for a short second I’m dancing under the stars again.

This upcoming year will be a new dress. FRD is gonna be retired (and still needs fixing after lastyears event)

I will be coming up with something* bigger, better, and brighter for this year.
But I really enjoyed the randomness of what people took. Having the camera and all my pictures in thier hands and keeping me out of how they took the picture. made the pictures that i got so much more meaningful. However. There is always time to do both...the completly random and the set up shots. And if i create something amazing dresswise.. i will certainly be more than willing to pose and dance along the playa for pics.

I agree with you Noir about stewardship, and you Blue about arrogates, Tony the earth will do what it will in it's own time, "It's" time might well be in our life times.

It's hard to imagine what it would be like to have death in the massive scale that a major flu pandemic, or a real plague would cause. but it will happen again.
