DVD - by responding you are just doing what they want you to do.

If you had just let it go, who do you think is going to look like the fool? A big half page collection that didn't just make itself up about you signed by someone else that I see getting tons of respect on this site. You know? Who's thinking about whom here?

Now that has been buried by 7 or 8 of your posts and it looks like it is you, not the one who started it, that is the punk.

In the world of publicity it is better to be talked about (even if it is shit that is being talked about you) than to be talking about.

yeah, i mentioned that you had said some things that could be construed as threatening. actually, it's handy that you said what you said to sensei, because in tone and effect they're pretty much the same.

to me it smacks as threatening people without crossing the clear line that would make you get kicked off re:TOS. It doesn't mean you aren't threatening at all - only that you couch your language to cover your ass.

DVD, you have to understand that you're trying to make people think badly of people they know in person. It doesn't work that way. You're wasting your time.

Plonk is a crutch used by the emotionally weak to cope with people they haven't learned quite how to handle just yet. If you use it you lose the chance to engage the person and develop suitable coping skills or find resolutions to the core problem. Or in other words plonk is taking the easy way out.

There's a lot of newcomers spouting off who don't know the history behind most of this. Without knowing this info it's easy to make comments and take pot shots that are not based on facts and are based on very limited views, snapshots, quotes or soundbites. The problems DVD and even myself have had with certain parties have been simmering for years, some even go back before the creation of the current board. Saying this won't change anything...yet now that it's out there if I offer a polite STFU comment, everyone will understand where I'm coming from.

Rian, I like you...you're another one of my automatic posters...you write something I read it. But in this case there's a lot you're missing. I'm backing / defending DVD to the hilt and have no issues with doing so because knowing the history I feel DVD and I are standing on the moral high ground. And in that position defense is mandatory.

Tancorix, I think you're missing that some of those you label newcomers are not so new. Myself, I'm relatively so - but it's been a year and a half, long enough to see some things happen.

I keep an open mind about people in general. My problems with DVD stem directly from my interactions with him and my experience of his interactions with the community/communities here.

I'm going to beg to differ on 'plonk'. Sometimes it's better not to feed into someone's behaviour, whether they are right or wrong, if you know it will only prolong and promote the chaos. This is the road I've been choosing with DVD the last week when he's tried tirelessly to engage me in an eplaya war.

Oh, and I'm pretty sure that, despite plenty of weaknesses and failures on my part, I'm not *that* emotionally weak. So try again, please.

Actually, DVD, I wasn't trying to accuse you any more in that post. I was serious about being glad for your words to Sensei. One of the reasons is that, had someone thought that I was saying that you made a clear threat to me, this should clear it up.

I tried to avoid any conflict with you, but you have decided to pursue it here on this forum with me, by posting named and unnamed comments for the last week. I've been biting my tongue for a week as you annoyed this entire forum. But this goes a bit far.

I'm perfectly happy to let all of this lie fallow, so long as you don't make the kind of quasi threats that you just made toward Sensei.

There's the potential for a serious breakthrough here. DVD, are you up for one more try to explain this? I know the flak cannons are fierce but there's a small opening here and it's a good question to start some dialogue with. Lord knows everything else to date has failed so here's a fresh start...I'd run with it. But if the cabal comes in and buries you one last time...put up a sign: Give up all hope all that enter here and walk away. It will be hopeless at that point. But then nobody can say you didn't try. I got some of my small breakthroughs thanks to a question like this.

That post meant that the Badger I've met on the playa as a Ranger doesn't seem to be the same one that shows up online. The online version is much nastier and unpleasant to deal with in certain cirucumstances, and it's a damn shame too.
