Simmer down, there, Tony-tone!

*lays GE gently out on the surface of the bar, lifts dress, lets about a double shot of Drambuie drizzle down from between her shoulder blades to gather in a glistening pool at the small of her back*

Don't worry, I'll get every drop.

Good day people...

Just swinging through to say hello.

RJ... so sorry your having such a crisis day(s). Here’s sending big hugs and super good vibes your way. I’ll light a candle for you tonight. I let them act as a sort of a “good vibe” or “Prayer” reminder. So that way, instead of thinking of you just once, you see... I’ll think of you every time I see the flame flickering.

And now onto the business at hand:

Well, now... there’s something you don’t see every day. People should do that more often, I think.

*Crawls out from NEBlanket stands and wanders around a bit, loosening up his muscles in preparation for a good serious drink of orange juice. He swings the jug up to his lips, misses, and slams himself in the eye with the jug, pouring orange juice into his occular orb, and covering the right side of his face with orange juice, which runs down his body and pools on the floor. He whimpers, sits down, wraps the blanket around himself again, sticks his thumb in his mouth, and pouts*

(Towels sam off and guides him back towards the NEB where he can rest)

(Looks around and finds the bar seems suddenly empty. Sniffs armpit and wonders, “Is it me?)

I know this is a virtual bar but if it was real I'd buy everyone a round of whatever they wanted. I got several pieces of good news today and it deserves a round or three to celebrate.

Well, it looks like I'm moving. I got all the paperwork done and I pick up the keys whenever I want. That ends a long and frustrating search.

Then I had my annual review in front of a peer review group who decided the scores....it's on a 1-5 scale and nobody gets a 1, few get a 2. I got a 2 which I didn't expect. And it's not the first time I pulled that off, I did the same after 9/11 back in 2001.

And I completed a full govt background check and other things to get a coveted credential and security clearance. On this one the Feds even interviewed one of my elementary school principals. I know this because he is married to a friend of the family and he told me all about it. So all in all it's been one heck of a day, and a very good one.

first day of classes for the semester thankfully ended early. I can only take so much "and my name is and we will do and please tell me who you are," blah blah blah. And, then we have to all sit through the chatty, must be high on way too much ridalin students, who are breaking down what has been already broken down a thousand fucking times.
--- Oh, hi yall, whiskey please---
Would it really be bad if I jumped up frothing at the mouth telling said student to shut the fuck up before I kill you?
ok, ok, alittle harsh, I know. But sheesh...
---gulp gulp,,, another please---
so, anybody up for a game of twister?

Rian, that was my soon to be 17 year old "little" sister I had tagging along in 2003. Burning Man transformed the girl, she's a lot more outspoken, more artistic, and the family feels the trip to BM was the best thing that's happened to her.

As for me, I've never really left the eplaya, but I spent a lot more time over on the 3playa. And truthfully my drama that I used to have here followed me over there and that coupled with disagreements with Badger, Precipitate and others made me bail out last week. I haven't been back since but the skirmishes continue. There's enough material there to fill an entire thread but to keep it from bubbling up again I'll say I was at fault and be done with it. My problem, my mess.

Anyway I've been working my rear end off to fix many of the drama issues offline and things are getting better. It doesn't matter where I call home, as long as I'm around Burning Man people that's what I enjoy.

Well, the orange juice was a disaster... may I have some club soda, please?

i see. dragontear (that was her login, right? tiff, as i recall?) and i had corresponded a bit before the burn, but never ended up meeting each other.

i completely missed that drama on the o.b. i lurk there occasionally... more on the days when this board is either slow or people are making me want to shoot myself. still haven't gotten around to/made the committment to posting there. yet, at least.

sam, it could be the puking that's making you lose your orange juice. i'm sure the acidity isn't helping you at all.

i just had some chocolate, and even though the world is still falling down it tastes better.
