Forever Here In My Hands[b/]

I have forever in my hand.
It is mine to share or give.
It will be the gift that everyone remembers.
It will be the gift that shapes each tomorrow.
It will be the one thing useful in all our lives.

I have forever in my hand.
It appears to be melting as I watch.
If I blow on it to cool it down, my breath will erase the colors.
If I change hands, It will lose some of it's meaning.
If you want to share it I think you'd better hurry.

I have forever in my hand.
It is soft and furry like a rabbit.
Can you see it trembling there in my hand?
Can you sense the urgency as you stroke it's back?
Can you understand why you even need forever?
Can we talk about it tomorrow because it will be forever too.

In the interest of minimizing waste (and dirty dishes), I forego the cup and just swill from the bottle....

I only worry about that when I'm down to the last one in the case....oh, uh- at that point I'm usually past worrying....

Stuck in a corner with my back against the wall,
Refusing to give in as night begins to fall,
Lots of shouting, and fighting, and gnashing of teeth
